There's lots of polarised opinions here (not at all surprising)! EU countries are supplying (some) military equipment to the Ukraine (not even remotely close to all of what they have) and Russia is receiving some from it's own partners (Iran and North Korea spring to mind). Russia has committed far more to the conflict than the EU (and NATO), although granted there is plenty more where that comes from in Russia. The EU is involved in the conflict of course on some level but Russia also has its partners involved in supplying them weapons and funding the war by buying more oil / gas than previously (it wouldn't sit right with my conscience)...and god knows what else is going on behind the scenes on both sides. My question is really, if the EU was 100% in, boots on the ground, planes in the air would Russia win the conflict? If they are winning slowly against the Ukraine, who have much much less at their disposal and much much less experience fighting modern wars (at least when the conflict started), I think it would look pretty bleak for Russia even if they were all in. Asking on the basis that the US and China don't get involved - that's a whole different ballgame. Also asking on the the assumption that nukes aren't involved, as then we all lose. Although maybe we all lose anyway...
These numbers equal T-54 tanks rusting anywhere in Siberia with modern tanks like the Leopard2A6. In Europe you can see tanks that age only in museums (in better conditions). Besides that Poland alone just ordered 1.000 K2 Black Panther from South Korea. The vast majority of russian tanks come nowhere near them quality-wise. Russias sole Aircraft Carrier was built 1982, every single russian Attack aircraft is from the 70s and 80s. Etc. How outdated all that stuff is, is impressively proven in Ukraine. In total: Russias military is quite impressive… if we had the year 1985.
Real power is not measured by this simple numbers. Real power comes from logistics reproduction capacities, disciplines, technology , manpower etc These China is far ahead . US ? Can't even field a fighting force with bases all over there world.
