I start to think that maybe I either missunderstand the system or it got patched out. Here is my basic way of trying: I load save with 5 keen blades crafted I craft additional keen blade to change the seed each time the seed that I get to is the one that places the seal on 4th weapon Each time the seal placed on Stonecarver/Missilecutter is "Mighty strike" while I want seal "pierce" I reload the save with 5 keen blades and restart the cycle According to guides it should create a new seed with different outcome however I always end up with the same.
Honestly, you probably saved me the frustration of even attempting this. I was on the fence, as I 100%ed the last two games I played (6 and LAD), but flat out saying "don't do this" is good enough for me to preserve my sanity. Maybe I'll come back to it at some point, but not now.
A year later and this is still probably the most important video ever made about an RGG game. Thank you, I'm almost done with the completion list and am never touching ishin kiwami again. I'm baffled they wasted money on a remake instead of a remaster just to make stuff like this worse. I hope a translation patch for the original can still happen.
I really wanted to go for 100% on Ishin. Now watching this video I no longer want the 100%. I love the Yakuza games but with a hectic life, 3 kids and hardly any playing time, I’m going to pass. Seems way to random and it’s a shame because this game is amazing
I still don't understand how you got 3k damage on the sword and 1.3k on the pistol. I'm using the last phase of the fire element weapon (Okanehira) best grade and only has 1.2k damage. Not even one weapon on the smithing diagram goes above 1.3-1.4k damage. How do you achieve 3k?
I used the Repentance Seal a.k.a. "Change of Heart" which increases your damage based on the virtue you currently have. You only need a single Seal applied for 1% of your virtue to be added to your damage, so I have a metric ton of virtue from selling plates and weapons. It's incredibly useful and downright breaks the game but it has an immensely low chance of being slotted onto a weapon when crafted as well as from weapons dropped in the dungeon. I believe the spreadsheet in the description shows some weapons that have it but I don't remember.
@@ItsAllstarBrose oh I see now, but I didn't know it reflected on the weapons attack value. Thought it only showed on the damage pop ups when you struck a enemy. Thanks for the reply btw.
No wonder this game has the most negative reviews in the whole Yakuza video game category...!! Every Yakuza game that I've seen are mostly just 5/5's and saw the reviews who are saying "Play this game now!!" until i saw Like A Dragon Ishin has the lowest score and i was wondering why...
Were you reloading the same save over and over or were you making a seal before each save? If you were, then all I can say is you got intensely bad luck because as far as I know none of this has been affected by any sort of patch or fix.
@@ItsAllstarBrose I'm just not getting any seals unlocked I even went to the barracks and got weapons with seals and made a new gun next to it and never unlocked like for example I get the iron grinder with armor piercing and I make reinforced warrior and it shows I got the armor piercing and another seal like fire and it doesn't show in the seal in equipment of completion list
Are you attempting to get the seals at the top of the list? As stated at 3:09 the top-most seals aren't transferable which is denoted by the pins keeping them in place. If not, are you simply not getting seals on your weapons or are you just repeatedly failing when attempting to apply the seals? If it's the latter it's just incredibly bad luck, at the worst I've got almost forty cycles without getting one.
@@ItsAllstarBrose I have obtained all weapons and armor and not one seal done. I have tried to transfer seal to another didn't work.i have made 100 of the same weapon not one seal
I'm gonna be honest, I think you're missing a step then because everything in this video is as accurate as we currently know. I have yet to see anyone else have the same issues so I would rewatch the video closely to make sure you understand everything.
I've platinumed every single Yakuza game that has a plat including the OG Ishin but this system was actually the thing that made me decide I'll get round to finishing it sometime later. Now here I am and this video is a godsend.
Hello, I am crafting many stone carvers but I had no seals at all during the crafting I am using the basic hammer, one slot is creating during the crafting but always empty (after more than 30 trys Am I doing in the wrong way ? Cause I am being desespered now … only 6 seals left and I don’t know how to get it
From information other people have come up with, it seems the type of hammer you use doesn't matter and instead it's the total slots you get from the hammers. An efficient way to get two slots would be to upgrade the Bundle Blade with Silver Hammers twice so your Stonecarver has two slots. You might try this but unfortunately there's no sure-fire way to get seals other than using this method or getting weapons from the Battle Dungeon that have them.
Indeed if I am going to the stonecarver using always silver hammer, I’ve had a seal !!! Thanks Only the square seal blessing and I have completed the game
Check the spreadsheet in the description, any weapons that have Double Shot listed have the potential to have the seal when crafted/found in a Battle Dungeon. You can then dismantle it at the blacksmith and use the seal on a different pistol.
So if i want to get alot of virtue and use virtuous i need about 300 of that seal to make em all maxed at 30% how do i farm that and kiwami hammers are so rare how u meant to get max slots on something with them hammers being so rare
You don't need that many seals maxed out, filling out the slots on a headpiece with max slots is fine enough. You get more slots by improving the quality of the weapon through the hammers you use, as explained at 1:34. You only need a Kiwami Hammer if the item has one point of upgrade, like the Wooden Gun tree since the final weapons require enchantment instead of crafting.
For a casual playthrough? It's not integral to the game above normal. You might want to do a little bit of crafting if you do normal or easy just for convenience's sake but the game gives you new equipment every chapter so you shouldn't need to struggle with all these crazy systems.
FYI after some testing I discovered that the type of hammer doesn’t matter, what matters is the number of empty slots on the item you craft. I discovered this by crafting High Revolvers with silver hammers (1 empty slot) and Iron Grinders with iron hammers (1 empty slot). Both gave me the same result. However, when I used a blue High Revolver to craft an Iron Grinder with an iron hammer (2 empty slots), I got a different result. I was confused at first, so I did some more testing and that’s when I realised that the number of empty slots changes the seed rather than the type of hammer that is used.
I thought Yakuza 0 was bad for trophy/achievement completionists and then Kiwami ,then Kiwami 2 etc ....all the way to Yakuza like a dragon , diferent combat ,the grind is not going to be THAT bad i said .....oh boy the dungeon sewers ..... !!! and then ishin ....i have no words , they really hate completionists at this point.
As much as I live all of these games, I hate the completion process the most of any games I’ve ever played. They are insanely painful for no reason at all.
I think it’s a cool system for an mmo or pve game like say monster hunter, I think that’s the type of system they tried, but since there’s no need to balance and multiplayer element it is tedious. I guess the main point was to prevent people from just cheezing the entire game with endgame weapons and unlocking all dojo moves in the highest difficulty but Idk, I’m barely in chapter 2 or 3 I think in my first play through, so far I don’t hate it but I guess completing the game 100% including weapons would be extremely difficult, good thing it’s not my focus. As miyamoto musashi said in dokkodo: never collect weapons beyond what is useful 😂
The only reason the game is as grindy as it is is because they want to keep players playing as long as possible. This is the first game in the series with such an immense grind so I feel it's inexcusable. You can easily cheese the game by putting a single Pierce seal on a decent pistol anyway, plus the vast majority of moves taught by trainers aren't particularly useful and/or are super deep into their respective skill trees. I can't see any justifiable reason for the game to waste the player's time like this, especially because the content within isn't engaging at all.
The spreadsheet in the description should have the weapons that can have it listed, just press control+F and type in Adamantine and you should see them. As far as I know, the Indestructible Truth pistol and the Kotetsu, Kiku Ichimonji, and Ujishige swords should be able to have them.
@ItsAllstarBrose Thank you so much for responding! Yeah, I've been crafting said weapons over and over actually, but the seals I keep getting are either madness, greed, and crush. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Or perhaps I just need to keep crafting until eventually adamantine pops up?
You've just got some really bad luck unfortunately. One thing I might suggest is letting the seed progress *without* savescumming, I'm still not totally sure how seals work within groups but I noticed a pattern where certain pieces of equipment get the same seal every time I try for it so progressing the seed should stop that from happening.
@ItsAllstarBrose Thank you so much for your response! It just so happens that since making my initial post in this thread, I eventually managed to finally obtain the adamantine seal. I got it through scoring an indestructible truth pistol with an extra adamantine seal on it through a dungeon run. Yet now I'm having a hard time getting the antidote seal, lol. In the meantime, I'm just going to keep grinding. With enough patience, I should get it... eventually, lol.
12:41 : I have few questions. If suppose I reload the game due to not getting seals and craft the Keen blade to reset the seed... 1) Do I need to save again after I craft the Keen blade? 2) If suppose I craft the keen blade and then my 3rd stonecraver has a seal, after reset will it come out on my third weapon or the 4th weapon due to keen blade?
1. Yes, you should save after crafting the new Keen Blade. Saving after crafting it means your new seed is locked in so you're no longer getting the same results from the old seed. 2. In that scenario, if you've saved after crafting the Keen Blade the third Stonecarver will have the seal. What you should do is save after crafting the second Stonecarver after the Keen Blade so you can farm that one weapon for different seals.
Other thing is that, I had a seal available after enhancing 4-5 times. Didn't get the seal I wanted, so I went to battle Dungeon. Got back to the blacksmith, the seed reseted.
No, once you've used it you're unable to get another. The only other one you can get in your current playthrough is from collecting all memoirs and completing the Bacchus substories.
