Tbh 700 is the most difficult part skill wise, the end is just random. Had a lot of fun playing the game, I liked the challenge. Now im just looking at some recordings to see there is any bugs.
Hey, it's done by picking up some specefic items through out the run. Items in your inventorry counts as being scanned, but if you drop b4 the scan quest it does not work.
It's done ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KoaCNfUlYIw.html. New starbound WR, I only need to wait for it to get verified and maybe try to get a better time because I actually died one time. 😂 Anyways thanks for finding the route, I found some optimizations that I implemented and I will try to get it sub 1 hour, it's definitely possible!
played the game for 3 days and finished it again. man I was throwing away bombs because I assumed they were useless... mostly ate rice because I was selling all the food from my farm world to get ship upgrades, getting crewmembers takes too long so I just buy the ship upgrades. If I knew about the dupe glitch I would have had a potion or 2. Only used the late game healing items for the last world. bandages 4 life. cos my farmworld had fiber trees
That was a great run. I learned so much thing from that like faster traveling with using menu, how overpowered is the bombs, kit&potion dupe trick, easily getting 20 core fragment with slapping mother poptop, how to get multiple buffs from Tonauac, thank you so much for all of the tips :)
@@ZiskaI-I I'm getting good runs, at least the first half is what I tried but if I do quick stuff, like getting something out of a chest, the game crashes sometimes. I think it could be a RAM (happens after 30min game time) or windows issue, because I never had such problems in the past.
@@DirtyDan666 it is a know problem if you click loot all as you are closeing a chest by moveing to far away the game crashes i have had it happen a few times too.
You know, I've been playing Starbound for at least 2 years and I have considered speedrunning it. However I quickly realized that I was not going to even attempt that since scanning Floran clues always fucks me up. I remember getting three runs in a row (not speedruns though, just normal playthroughs) where I got to the last tier of EPP without ever seeing a single Floran settlement. But even then, it's only half of the problem. Avians have the same problem for me, even though I may encounter them more often in early game. This seems like something you can shrug off with "dud the world is random, your sentence makes no sEnSe hadsiohdsaguhahhahahahahdgsa" but no, the world has the proper, never changing seed: -5288806180628666923 and the only thing that is random is the location of your spawn. I could make a list of all the planets where you spawn just right by the settlements, but would it be fair? And if not, then one speedrun can take 12 minutes while another - up to 4 hours depending on if you get lucky with the spawns. I really feel so sorry for you having to speedrun this particular product, but since I know what a pain it is (especially in vanilla omg) I am going to watch the full video just out of pure respect
[on 35th minute you actually do that, so I'll just leave it there for you to read since I don't like removing stuff. But glad you know about that thing too] Actually, here's a strat I thought about. Maybe it's faster to dig straight down as you spawn (make a few steps to the side or your spawnpoint will change). On foraging station you can craft hunting spears, they're pretty expensive since you need wooden logs. But here's the thing: let's say you make 1000 of them. You can shift-RMB (if I remember correctly) to separate the amount equally. So, you can have 500 in one item slot and 500 in another. So just equip them to both hands (500 in one, 500 in another). They have slow recharge rate but two spears can one shot almost everything. Or you can shoot one after another increasing the speed making it easier to fight close range. However it will only work if you dig cobblestone and the Poptop killing strat kinda stands on the way. If you'll ever want to speedrun the product again I can think of a couple of other interesting tricks if I get to remember some
Well to your first thing is it fair mapping the universe in the speedrun, we decided that you can use what you know, so we have traveled to a set of plannets for the last 3 years, that we determined was the fastest. Thanks for watching btw :) and if you ever want to try speedrunning the game let me know or something.
@@beduardlex9289 I think it is to slow to craft and go out of your way to get stuff if you can get everything you need while you are moveing to your next obejctive. But then again not been tested so i dont know.
@@ZiskaI-I oh shi, right. I keep forgetting that different things have different crafting time. I guess just abusing the menu to avoid monsters is faster then. I do think there could have been some time saves in a few other places, like the Apex if you avoided elevators and just jumped placing blocks underneath and in the apex boss where you got kicked out of the elevator. Also, if you're fighting any humanoid creatures or the poisonous green / purple monsters (the ones you get to see in the Poptop mine) can be infinitely avoided by just crouching. Just try to crouch without moving and you'll see they will not hit you. Since NPCs can't run and shoot you can abuse it to stun them shooting nothing while the elevator is going your way
@@beduardlex9289 first of all you cant place blocks in instances, second i dont really need to avoind things i just run strait at them and then leave them dont need to crouch cheese. and yea maybe waiting for the elevater is slow on that planet but i dont want to go collect more wood and blocks than i need if posible since that also takes time
Is there a reason why you kept dropping the bandages and other consumables every time you used them? Or was it just because of boredom? Neat run though, didn't expect many people to speedrun this game but you did it well (edited for clarity)
Hey thanks for the comment. It's a dupeing exploit, so i can spam healing, and latere so i can use my speed boost, with only ever haveing one speed boosting item.
When you raid the Exibiit Swarm V library, do you always collect the same items? How do you know when you completed all of the scan quests for the first half of the run? Great record btw
It is all memory, it is always the same items you pick up. You need 50 clue points, so I just pick up the items I need to get 50 clue points for every species. Ofcause trying to be as fast as i can be.
The big boi at 7:05 drops 20 core fragments so that is the way we obtain them, well if i can help explain just a little bit of this game im happy to answer any question ;)
Well not as a strat, but i have used Asra Nox's sword in a run it does desent dmg, but we kill everything with bombs anyways, so boss weapons are not that usefull ;)
@@ZiskaI-I I will do my best, but there are many many things I will have to learn first... I have only like 1k hours played on SB total, so I am kinda newbie. XD But looking at your run, I think sub-hour might be possible with better set of planets maybe, so that will be my primary concern now. I am kinda your fan now, so I would not mind, if you would take it from me later, assuming I will ever beat you, indeed... I think sub-hour would be a great achievement for the whole SB community, so if I could make you do it, it would be an honour. :D
This was really good. Kinda makes me want to try and make one. I'm curious how you found villages and stuff so quickly though. Did you use known locations or were you just able to use the same map from a previous game?
You could do even faster, the fight against Erchius Horror, you could be a lot faster if you tank some hit. I do that Boss tanking those lasers to press 2 bottons faster. Edit: Another thing you could use is Double Daggers, you kill enemies faster without taking hit, you don't need to kill some enemies, but when you do, you can use it.
Well the speedrun is first finished, when you complete the last mission, and you complete that, when you turn it in with Esther, so the speedrun ends after you beat the ruin.
