I say Hell’s Kitchen deserves to win for Best Musical, Best Performance By A Leading Actress In A Musical (Maleah Joi Moon-Hell’s Kitchen as Ali) Best Direction In A Musical (Michael Greif - Hell’s Kitchen) and for Best Book of a Musical (Kristoffer Diaz - Hell’ Kitchen) I really want Hell’s Kitchen to win for Best Musical, please. I’m a huge fan of Alicia Keys. Hard to believe that she grew up in Hell’s Kitchen in NYC. Hope we get a film adaptation of the musical broadway soon with either Sony Pictures/ Columbia Pictures or Tristar Pictures, Lionsgate, Paramount Pictures, Focus Features, Universal Pictures, 20th Century Fox (which now goes by 20th Century Studios), Fox Searchlight Pictures, or Warner Bros Pictures or Warner Bros Pictures/ New Line Cinema distributing the film (As long as it’s not on streaming like Netflix and Amazon). Who should direct the film adaptation? I think it should be the one and only Queen of R&B Alicia Keys!
Saw this last night. Absolutely incredible show! I see a show in NYC about every week, and this is one of the best shows I have ever seen. Leaned into the weirdness of the rock opera. Played the music straight through, giving the audience no time for applause, which was a smart directorial choice. Everyone just exploded in applause at intermission and at the curtain call. People were jumping to applaud at the end of the final song before the curtain call ever started. The show is very tight. I think maybe an hour 40 minutes, with a shorter second act. Loved the choreography. The vibe is West Side Story meets Tron, if that makes any sense. I will be royally pissed if this isn't a hit.
I was at the show last night. The production was tight, the scenery was phenomenal, and the acting was superb My only disappointment was that the script was rewritten with a post modernist bent, gutting any sense of transcendence or higher meaning from the performance. When they sing following you, you ask yourself, who are they following? The ending felt hollow and unfulfilled.
it felt like where taking back in the 80s where there are some people who making this propaganda.. like they are not helping to improve our country but instead they are trying to divide again the people for pros and against.. and earned some money aswell of course... why they did not do this musical bin in time of Aquino? why now?! under the government of PBBM... questionable behavior
Because the amount of time it takes a show to get to Broadway occurs regardless of who is president at the time. This show premiered in 2013, for what it's worth.
I saw the performance on 7/13 & this finale number is no longer in the show. I hope it gets put back in because it really sends the audience off in a party mood.
