You have to factor in your body weight if a guy doing the test is 150 lb and you are 200 lb it's going to be a massive difference in range especially if you're going up hills

Is the battery tray falling out a common thing you've seen? Do we really need to secure the battery with zip tie because I'll frequently change the battery out and not charge it on the bike and having a ziptie would sour that routine

Thank you for posting this video. I went round and round with Yamaha when trying to order this bike as they do not have any local shops that sell it in my area of Florida. I finally found a dealer that would ship it to me and it should be here this Friday. You mentioned that I should put greese on the pedals before screwing them in is there a specific type of grease I should buy to do this? Plus is there anything else I should buy to have ready when I assemble the bike. Thank you again for the video liked and subscribed!

I would think of it as security. However, you might have to double check it remains closed while riding. I assume if it slides open a little bit like mine does without something holding it. A person could pop it open the rest of the way to get the battery out.

@@Hisway1151 it only secures the battery. So far I have left the keys at home as I don’t anticipate removing the battery while riding, although it could be a deterrent for theft…? I noticed a slight slippage feeling from the motor while riding my CrossCore in 9th gear. I was wonder if that was expected because of the akward chain angle or adjustment is needed. Did you experience anything like that while riding in 9th gear?
@InfiniteMishaps
@InfiniteMishaps 2 дня назад
@@runnershigh7467 yes I have the same thing happening to me. I believe it is the limiting screw. I haven’t looked at it yet though. The limiting screws are what should keep it from going too far and ending up off the cassette. Mine if ridden and shifted aggressively to 9th will push the chain past the ninth cog. It’s done this to me twice. It’s not far off on the adjustment. I imagine a half turn or so is needed on the adjustment screw.

I have had my Crosscore RC for about six weeks. I bought this bike on the current Yamaha sale bash for 1199.00 + tax. That includes the 3 year warranty extended to 5 and the extra free battery. These are my mileage test results. Echo- 68 miles, Standard 40miles and Auto 43 miles. I didn’t test Echo + or High. Conditions were wind 15 mph gusting to 23 , flat to slightly hilly,rider 5’-11” weight 223 lbs in cycling gear. If you look at the distance reports that Electric Bike Reports did, you have to consider the rider weight was 175 lbs. I don’t recall them mentioning wind. In my area the average daily wind speed is 12.2 mph. So my distance results are based on 48 lbs extra for the rider and probably higher head and cross wind speeds. Thanks your reports and insights.

@@trekmobile7521 great to see someone else’s real world range results. Thank you so much for posting them here. Those numbers seem very close to what I would expect. I am about 6ft 210lbs usually wind is low here, but as of late wind has been a significant factor in my rides. I tend to write off the elevation I ride. I bought this to keep my heart rate lower between 120 and 140, but I tend to pedal more since the engagement is lost the moment pedaling stops. my 16mi + 16mi commute left me with 2 bars, wish the capacity was a bit higher so I could confidently use higher speeds. Does Yamaha publish the range? I was looking for it but couldn't find it on their site.
@InfiniteMishaps
@InfiniteMishaps 2 дня назад
I suspect those are the correct numbers if you are riding in high or auto. Maybe even Standard if you ride hard. I found that if I gave it the beans it resulted in faster speed and way more battery usage. Would be interesting to see what PAS you were in, what your avg speed was, and what elevation you climbed on your commute. I found it harder to keep an elevated heart rate on the Wabash than I did on the Crosscore. Wabash just wants to go fast and burn through the range. I suspect if I slowed my efforts its range would increase.

I'd bet that it is like my Wabash when it came in. You have to unlock with the key and fiddle with that extra latch on the bottom of the tray on the outside. The battery is probably a little lose in the tray and keeping it from opening all the way. Put a towel or something down under the bike before you try and get it open. Just in case the battery falls out like mine did the first time I opened it. You could also try flipping the bike upside down and then try to open it up. That might help dislodge the battery if it is caught on something.

My other ebikes have the latch at the top so all that battery weight isn't acting on the latch much.

Do you actually feel any assist in eco mode? Seems it just feels like a regular bike and in full assist the range just 30 miles, so its not that efficient. I rode a crosscore and it didn't feel like it was giving much power in any of the assist levels
@InfiniteMishaps
@InfiniteMishaps 8 дней назад
Personally, I can feel a difference in turning off the assist and having it in Eco+ for certain. If you get on the bike and expect it take off like a hub motor, it doesn't. The assist on this bike is directly tied to your own effort. In Eco+ for certain it requires more effort to get it to give noticeable power/assist. If I ride like 25% effort it feels a bit heavy and not so much assist 15-17mph. If I ride at 50% effort the bike feels much better, and the assist is more noticeable 17-19mph. If I ride at 75% effort the bike feels heavy but the assist is noticeably more and top speed goes to about 22mph. This is all in Eco+ of course. It behaves differently in the other modes.

Thanks! I can take it on the trail. The CC would do it for sure. With the fork travel being so limited, I would probably just lock it out. It did occur to me that I haven’t tried firming it up yet. There is an adjustment for that. I’ll give it a go and see what happens. As for versatility I’d say the wabash is more versatile. Choosing between them would be tough, but I’d say comfort wise the CC before the wabash. Performance wise I’d jump on the wabash.
