I moved to Mississippi over 11 years ago..spent many days in long Beach. Pass christian...on the beach...ride my harley down to the coast. Spend the night on the beach..sunrise..head home...
The beaches are GROSS. They may have artificially piled sand at the water’s edge to create a “beach,” but walk a couple dozen yards out into the water and you are walking in slimy MUD. The water is the color of chocolate milk year round.
The water on the MS gulf coast goes back and forth between the Coast and the barrier islands, such as Ship Island. That is why it is not clear. If you go to Ship Island the water is clear.
There’s a smoke free area at the Coushatta Casino in Kinder, LA but they only have slots, no table games in that area. None of the casinos in the Lake Charles have smoke free areas.
Thank you, one of the best MS Gulf Coast videos I have seen. Having personally experienced the aftermath of Hurricane Camille, the renaissance of the area is spectacular. Looking forward to visiting soon.
I lived in Lake Charles from 1986-1990 and it looks like it has really changed! Not really sure which I like best. L'Abuerge Lake Charles reminds of the L'Auberge we have here in Baton Rouge. That's a nice casino with some great restaurants. Pat Benetar played it one year and she rocked! Can't really pick a favorite, I might have to take a road trip back to LC and check them out! Thanks for the great video!
Thank you for making and sharing this video. Very well done!! We are so blessed here in many ways. So great that your video will show this to all who watch. Merci Beaucoup!! Cheers! PS… if you like to see some South Louisiana fishing in a very simple way, my channel shows lots of areas and mostly fishing and exploring from a kayak. Enjoy!
Thank you so much! I love our area of the world and really enjoy sharing it with everyone. Thanks for watching and I will be checking out your channel!

I am in southeast Louisiana, but we go to the coast often. I will be there in 2 weeks on our way back from Alabama. We plan on stopping to shop and eat in Ocean Springs. In Sept, my niece VRBO'd a house for 8 cousins and 2 aunts in Long Beach. I often go to Island View and Beach View with friends. I love the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Thank you for this really good video
Thank you for the kind words! I am doing lots of videos based on places in Louisiana also. Do you have any favorite places in Louisiana that I should do a video on? I am working on some videos now of Lafayette and New Iberia. I just published Exploring Secrets of Tabasco. 😀
Pass Christian and Bay St. Louis are two areas my friends and I have been interested in. We live in densely crowded coastal Florida and are natives looking to step back in time. Thank you...
That whole area, Waveland included, is beautiful. I've also considered moving there one day. Has a unique feel from the rest of the state...like you're not in Mississippi, lol.
I am so glad you made this video today. I have a vacation planned for New Orleans this fall and now I know to go visit these places and the surrounding Bayou Teche area. I have devotions to the Sacred Heart and Our Lady of Lourdes. Louisiana is becoming my favorite place to vacation.
Thank you so much You have the best video filled with lots good information. I've never been to any of the beaches in Mississippi but will be going soon
I've lived in Biloxi, Vancleave and Ocean Springs. Of the three, I would take Ocean Springs because it is so quaint and has such a welcoming feel. I've considered moving back many times.
I was a US Army tank platoon leader and later company commander in 1968-70. The tank at 3:22 is an M60A1. These tanks entered service in 1960 (WW2 ended in 1945). They were the Cold War era tank that we faced off in with the Russians. And by the way, the M47 and M48 tanks were called "Pattons". TheM60 series were not. Great tank, brings back memories of being a young Lieutenant in an elite unit. Good times.
I appreciate you sharing your insights and memories from your time as a tank platoon leader and company commander. I am not a tank expert! Thank you for watching!
I almost went there at Christmas time when I was vacationing in New Orleans, but didn't have time. I definitely want to visit. Thanks for showing the cathedral and the staircase. Didn't know about that. I hope I can visit Natchitoches next spring. Your interesting videos are helping me plan my trip.
Thank you for your kind words! It means a lot to me that my videos are helping you plan your trip. Expect to see more, there is so much to see and do and EAT in Louisiana! Safe travels!
I really love the water . I would like to have a vacation house plantation on the Ms coast when I get married for real and not be disturbed by the wrong people.
Thanks! Looks like my video did its job of uncovering hidden secrets in Louisiana! St Martinsville might not be well-known, but it's certainly worth a visit. Don't forget to pack your camera and appetite for delicious Cajun food!
Excellent video (except for the intercut shots of Vegas). Just the right length for an overview, well-produced, and a good job of covering the entire strip. Although I have lived in California for many years now, I grew up in Jackson, MS, and my family spent many vacations on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
I grew up in Mississippi all my lige until age 22. Went to the old Gulfpory High. Ladt graduation clas of 77. The Mississippi Aquariam is where the First Baptist Church once stood for many years.
Not only did Katrina wipe out the Mississippi gulf coast but so did Camile in 1969. When Katrina hit everyone was focused on New Orleans and the devastation there but the coast was, dare I say, was ignored. A news weather broadcast actually called us a mass between Alabama and Louisiana. But the Mississippi Gulf Coast is resilient, and we build back better each time we encounter a storms such as these.
