The realization that you could use the tank and then dying and then using the tank was great. Haha. Those small enemies are really annoying. They remind me a lot of the face suckers in Duke 3d. Always hated those enemies man. 4 health and a prayer all the way though!
What a messy and huge level with once again little to no ammo. If they ever do a remaster of this one, they need to add in more ammo. Oh, and here is a boss at 30 health! Wahoo! Hahaha. But you pulled it off.
That was a lot of fun. I would love to see more of those types of puzzles. Love how innovative the non gun puzzles were. Clearly them messing around made the portal gun disappear and it brought about all of this. Haha.
I really liked the theme of this level. The whole Medieval times and all that. That new gun is super cool too. I do feel like Turok almost needs a sword for a level like this though to keep in theme. Even if it was only for this one level and he couldn't use it elsewhere. That would be really cool. Love the knight looking enemies too. The running from the armory explosions was really funny too.
That tank at the end was brutal. Felt like we are entering a COD game now. It seems that the RPGs keep going after the mines instead of the tank itself. The heat seeking is not helping in this case.
I thought the first group of puzzles were cray, but these just take it even further. I cannot wait to see what it is next for these. Super cool mod. Also, I want a box of Wheatley O's. Haha.
I loved the first part of this mission. This game certainly feels like almost a completely different game from the first one. Am still enjoying it though. One thing I do not like as much in this game though is how often the game leaves you without ammo, or the amount of super fast small enemies that it throws at you at once. That is on the excessive side.
That whole part of the escorting mission looked so annoying. Especially with how slowly they walked and how super long those corridors were. At least if it was shorter, it would not have been as annoying. But having backtrack all that way just to get the other scientist back just to open a door. Lame.
That unintentional trick shot was fantastic. Haha. I also love how they are using the voice lines for this mod. Who knew you could make such fun puzzles where you don't even use the portal gun. This is such a cool mod.
This game is quite the jump from the first one. These new enemies are wild, saving the kids. Rather enjoying it though. Graphics wise it is a huge step up too. Though, I got to say it is funny to see Turok suddenly in space. Haha.
Yeah, that was a surprisingly fast level. Not a lot of enemies, but I feel like there will be more in the later parts of this. Talk about a toxic dump. Looking forward to more of this are though. It's quite interesting so far.
That was a fun mod pack. I like how they used that line from Glados at the end. Testing forever! With all the mods in this game, you almost can test it forever. Haha. I would say do both if you want to. Whatever you find the most enjoyable.
That final gun is amazing. Also love how you have a boss battle against a freaking T-Rex. What a final level. The other boss battle just got nuked by that one big gun. Kind of love that though. It's a reward for getting that far in the game and probably having all the guns. Looking forward to the next one if you choose to do it. It seems the 3rd one got a remaster and has really positive reviews on Steam too.
Finally out of the facility. Here comes the part of shooters where they take everything away from you. Quite enjoying the story thus far. Looking forward to a little less claustrophobic level for a bit at least. Haha. Those quick enemies though look very annoying to fight. Never a fan of enemies that move super fast like that.
That was a fun mod. I do think it was nice having the robot ending villain at least. Looking forward to the co-op though. That should be a fun time. Silly modders added a copyrighted song at the end. The tests seemed a bit easier in this half of the mod.
That level reminded me a lot of the lava levels in Super Mario. Not a bad thing, but it reminded me a lot of them. Talk about ammo sponges of enemies on this one though. Nearing the end now.
Not really sure why you had to launch the rocket, but it made the game progress, so yay. Haha. You are basically John McClane here. Maybe he is former army or something and became a scientist after. Who really knows.
Interesting mod so far. It really does feel missing without the voices. I do think it would be fun if they could get someone to do a bit of writing and voicing for these mods. The puzzles are still fun, but it does feel like it is missing that one big piece.
Another really creative way to nuke another boss. Love how this game incorporates puzzles into beating bosses. Instead of making them all bullet sponges that shoot at for 10000 times. And better than the ones you have to fight for 45+ minutes like in some other games. They screwed around and found out. Now he has to be the one to fix their mistake. That is what I get from the story at least.
Man, I love Wheatley. Haha. Even as the bad guy, he is fantastic. And Glados too. They make this game incredible. I love how this game ends too. Just shoving you out because it is easier than killing you. She knows if you stuck around, she would get destroyed again anyway. Look forward to more of the Portal content.
That boss bugged me. Also the minigun seems better at crowd control than big boss fights. I guess I am more used to Duke Nukem and Doom with how the chaingun worked in those games. It seemed to be quite good for bosses. Not as good as an RPG, but it at least did some damage, unlike what seemed to happen here with it seemingly doing very little damage at all. Also, this level is the most maze like one yet!
Oh boy. I see a big boy boss ahead. Also, I like the creativity of beating the other boss. Really clever game design right there. Makes for a far more interesting boss fight. All the crazy jumps during that part was nerve-wracking though.
Wheatley is such a great character. Haha. Even when he is trying to kill you, he is still so much fun. I did figure out that one puzzle before you, but it's alright. Was still fun watching you figure it out. Haha. Usually you figure it out before I do. Looking forward to how this all wraps up.
I liked level 4 a lot more than level 3. I wonder what key you missed in level 3 though. Also, no idea what causes the headphones to pop sound wise when you are under water, but it also seems to happen with the flames too. Some kind of weird sound mixing is going on that is causing it. Still enjoyable despite that annoying popping bit. Only seems to happen in those moments though. Congrats on the mini gun and max lives though!
Oh boy, that sounds friendly right there at the end. Both seem to want you dead. Between Apature and Mesa. Oh look, our experiments went wrong, lets go and wipe out everyone involved instead of finding a way to fix it. Totally reasonable solution. This is another thing that makes this game great. Valve seems to love deadly turrets in their games too.
The back and forth between Glados and Wheatley is great. Makes this all worth it. The anti gravity thing for the puzzles is another really cool addition. I love how much they did with the portals in this game. Really took the concept and ran even further with it. The story so far just keeps taking little twist after twist. And I have a feeling the second Glados gets her body back, she will go bac k to being evil again. Haha.
What an obnoxious level. All the crazy platforming and then all those timed switches. Oh, you know what else we need a humvee boss battle with a guy with rocket launchers for guns. Oh boy! Felt like 2 boss battles in one. Haha.
I can still remember hearing my dad yelling from the other room while trying to beat Kyle Katarn at the end. He got so mad that he just started slamming his hands on the keyboard, accidentally turning the lightsaber off and completing the game. You could say he pulled a Homer Simpson lol
I am really enjoying the story. Have no idea how it all ends. The portal gels were really cool. I also like the sort of commentary on the whole digital consciousness stuff. I try not to think about that stuff much myself, but we are inching closer to each day. Just when I think the puzzles won't get crazier, they just keep getting crazier too. Haha.
Those precarious jumps go wild. I also love how much ammo they just throw at you in this game, never really feel like you are going to run out, which is a nice feeling. In terms of Roller Coaster Tycoon challenges, some of the ones I have seen is beating a park, but only building rides with over 8 excitement or something on that nature. Or beating a park with only flat rides. Some people like to do the double the objective in the time given too. Those are at least the ones that first come to mind.
Playing all the old classics I see. Half Life is a game that has aged pretty dang well I must say. The characters may look rough, but the gameplay itself still holds up even after all this time as does the story and tension they create.
These models and textures were never made for our insane high-resolution screens. They were designed for 800x600 CRT monitors 😀 For the most authentic experience, you'd have to set texture filtering to nearest neighbor and resolution very low. It would look like a pixelated mess, like in 1998, and you wouldn't be able to see the lack of detail.
Never played this one, but it always seemed interesting to me. Going to enjoy this playthrough. All the guns seem really fun and an exploding bows too. So much fun. It's got all that wonderful jank of the 1990's games too. Haha. I did not know they made a sequel to it too.
I do not trust her one bit even on that low of power, I am sure she is fully capable of lying. Haha. It's her primary function after all. She loves lying. Really loved the puzzles in this one personally too. I am not sure that you can pick one of them. I also love the addition of Cave Johnson, what makes it even better is he is voiced by J K Simmons. Hahaha. The bouncy blue liquid was really trippy too.
I would say this is a game for all ages. Really enjoyed this series. Rather sad to see it go, but I quite enjoyed the time with it. I would certainly go on the Chiropractor ride even though it would kill me. Really looks like a fun ride to go on. Would not go on that Hyper Twister coaster as even just looking at it makes me sick. Other than that, the rest of the park was really fun and would be a lot of fun to spend a day at for sure.
Those puzzles really did get insane. The bridges into portals is so clever too. I know they did the ball and laser thing already, but making actually bridges, that was cool to see. Then using it to to block the deathbots. Wheatley continues to be the best part of the game too. So many great lines by him. I am assuming the next one will be the finale. Feels like it is leading up to that. I can see why people want more Portal though after this. Such a fun game.
I only ever played the old DOS Orgen Trail game and there sure weren't any zombies in that one. This is a fun more modern twist on it though and I quite enjoyed seeing this version of the game. I am curios what the "expansions" are for this one. I do know that in the version I played as a kid, I never actually made it the whole way. Somehow we always died along the way. Haha.
I really enjoyed that. I have not played it myself. Quite enjoyed all of the dialog in this one. The writing in Portal 2 takes it up to elven. And I like how the puzzles area lot more challenging this time around. Really loving the new robot guy too. He has so many great lines. Looking forward to the next puzzles too.
