You should dig deeper. Caesar didn't willfully or intentionally bring about the collapse of the Republic and the birth of the Empire. He played by the same rules that were the very foundation of the Republic. He had no plans for an "empire" after he died. And he sure as hell didn't "make peace" with the Gauls. lol. He slaughtered a million of them in battle, just like Romans had been slaughtering foreigners for the past 800 years. This documentary doesn't become slightly accurate until near the end.
