When flying for a long time, my neck would hurt from checking my surroundings and being on the lookout for other aircraft, so I now fly with my head in the current position.

Awesome shots! Nice flying. You could get on the uprights sooner, and maintain speed earlier on landing, that way you're not trying to adjust your hands when you should be trying to time the flare correctly.
