So i have an 09 envoy gmc and i cant get cool air to the floor and the defrost and actually the side dash vents that defrost the door glass by each mirror.
Thanks for the video! I have a 2002 trailblazer with the same problem defrost and vent actuators are both bad was in there and got defrost working but it stopped again. Going back in and doing it your way.
At the Ark Encounter, an awe inspiring museum in Williamstown, Kentucky. It is Noah's Ark built to the measurements written in the Bible. I would definitely recommend a visit if you can manage the trip.
Great video! Thanks for posting. There's not a ton of content on these cars. Do you have the part number for the seal? I've noticed some aftermarket have different dimensions
So I did this but it keeps closing again every time I turn off the car and turn it back on. Once the car is back on its back closed!!!🤷🏽♂️ I used a quarter to turn mine!
You were able to turn it with a quarter? I didn’t take mine off, and tried using a coin (penny, nickel) to turn it, but the coins kept getting cut up. It wasn’t budging for me. Any tips?
Thanks, Max and Nicole! My '03 TB has the same problem. If I go that far, I'll probably replace the actuator but at least your method is a great workaround th beat the heat temporarily. Nice instructions!
Great info. did this & unplugged the actuator and vent works. The problem I'm having is that it resets back to defrost only when the truck is restarted.
You don't need to remove all this stuff .I disconnected nothing but 6 screws. You just needed to take the panel off beside the gas pedal. The actuator is behind that panel. I put my hand up to where the actuator was and it was just stuck. I fixed it by turning the round disc and it came in stuck.
How did you turn it? I’ve used coins but the metal opening on the actuator is not budging a bit. It’s scraping up the coins though. Not sure how else to turn it
Thank you for showing properly where it’s located with screws and the wiring I thought it was more difficult so I suffered all last summer without a/c just cause I thought it was to difficult
Did this, worked for a year, got a new battery and it reset but someone said you can use a flat stick or bar and reach it through the underside of the steering wheel
This COULD HAVE been an EXCEPTIONAL video if you would have had someone else holding the camera to keep it in focus and looking at the subject at hand. Five Stars anyway!
"Look up and see one, that's not the one. Look up and there's another one. That's the one". I love how it explains absolutely nothing as the first one has no desription... which also doesn't describe the other one... But hilariously... THAT'S THE ONE! EUREKA! Wait... what are we looking at?
