Awesome video! I'm about to hit up this lake on my kayak with my friend this week to hopefully catch our first largemouth bass ever, do you have any tips/advice on things like time, bait/lures, strategies, etc?
If it is very big, you might want to cut down alongside each "mud vein" going down through the fillet.Then you get four nice strips of catfish but you eliminate some of the muddy taste that they can sometimes have. Bonnie is so awesome. But if you haven't been there please listen to the rest of the comments about the danger. The creek is very slim and shallow. to launch anything longer than a 14ft jon boat is a task in itself. If you get up there and big breeze picks up the opposite direction of the creek, you might be spending the night out there, almost happened to me when my engine went out. Thankfully there was 1 other boat on the lake. Pack accordingly and bring a friend!

If you have a lake map you can find it very easily. I rarely fish Newman honestly. I prefer several other lakes, silver lake is a really good alternative.

@@Hickology same to you brother...and I believe you...we all make temporary lapses in otherwise good judgment. I was 22 years Navy...and have been bad with pfd use at times. Whether rushed, or lazy...or just no good excuse. Just want you safe...and to go on fishing those donks! Love the content!

Ive always said if I had the money I would turn that place into something magical. I hate launching there but its a far run form 9 mile in the dark before a tournament.
Have to say sacheen is one of the best lakes around as far as fishability most of the locals I've come across have been super cool and exchange stories and offer coffee/beers it's pretty refreshing to have comrodery like that instead of getting yelled at for fishing someone's dock

I have not. I use the waterproof ones from plano and the bass mafia boxes. I can say though, the bass mafia boxes for terminal tackle is a godsend. you weights and hooks all stay in the correct places without jumping.
