Chris Here, Wow, here we go. Another adventure is just around the corner. Just whimsical meanderings of my life. Nothing special. Athena is my dog, she is a pit mix. She just turned 3 yrs old in February. As my companion, we will log our travels here. There will be a bit of everything in my life. Im at a point where i have the urge to travel. Im finding a renewed self in my journeys. Be kind, im new at this and my camera and methods are going to be a bit primitive for now. Im not worried about being proper as much as i get to see who i really am. Get it? Cant afford a CL- C. Motor home, The truck didn’t like the tent trailer. So camping will be at It’s best in a Tent. Glamp if you will…. I hate that name! But my intentions are to be as comfortable as I could be in any RV. Chris Also check out an old u tube site of mine. If i can figure out how to bring the videos here i will;
Great videos sir. Remember Mike racing when I was involved with Griz Hay racing from 94 to 96. Those were the best times, and crazy adventures. Also Mike was, I believe, cousins with Dewey James, his family was great family friends with my family. Didn't know Mike personally, but can tell he was a good guy. Thanks for sharing.
Dad has passed in 10, mom in 12. Its the only home ever knew and was sold. Dad had that house built in 60. I live in mesa, retired city of mesa, been in my home 30 years…. I can drive by the house, but without mom and dad, i can never go home again
I understand lost my dad in 21 mom is still here...my best friend wants me to move back to Illinois... funny thing my Great Grandmas house was just sold back there...
I bring my makita driver to install the lags. I could anchor in asphalt if i needed… their holding strength in dirt is amazing. The drill driver makes a quick and simple job to stake the tent. Im getting too old to pound stakes
The good lord has definitely blessed me with a savior. Id be lost without her.. sad…. Was hoping to make it back for Athena’s birthday on the 16th, but good ol uncle sam needed more taxes from me this year…. Still adjusting finances… don’t know where to next, or when, but these four walls are closing in… it will be interesting from here… might see u in the pines? I will take it as it comes. Need to nurture new friendships
Absolutely you can tent camp in the ltva. This is where im camping. Must stay 500 ft from a restroom. You can leave your tent up the whole time if you wish. Blm does weekly permit checks. I hear if they don’t see someone active in a tent site, they investigate. People abandon tents and all the time. It keeps the sites clean. If your going to be gone longer than a day or two, then i would break camp… its a tent. Use google and search quartzsite, LTVA
According to the LTVA Supplementary Rules: "5. Unoccupied Camping Units. Do not leave your LTVA camping unit or campsite unoccupied for a period of greater than five days unless an authorized BLM officer approves it in advance."
@@athenasadventure Athena, you mention having to stay within 500 ft from restrooms, which I'll have to do, as well. How do you know which locations have the required restrooms. Is there a particular website or map that identifies these? Thanks.
Its about as close as i could get. I call it, right place, wrong time. Seeing a race there is still on the bucket list! I just went to the Xfinity finals at Phoenix international raceway, and my feet were numb most of the day… i get you,,, it was a long tough day on my feet… i did a video
Don't take your dog to the dog park , there's an unknown deadly dog virus going around , vets are saying to keep your dogs away from them until they know more , Keep them away from other dogs as well....
Look at you insulate !! Snug as a shutterbug in a rug…i hope that seriously improves your comfort. I already am daydreaming about when to return… got to let it fester a bit
Oh man I wish I'd grabbed more of those cinnamon rolls, you had me licking my screen again!!!! It was such a pleasure getting to spend time with you and Athena, and I do hope you can pop back for another visit!! Stay weird! Stay you!! 😁
Got to find out what the gear can do… a wood stove in a tent should never be taken lightly and you better be knowing what you’re doing… its not as romantic as you might think
I must beg to differ my friend. Who you was shaped who you are now, and I see a kind loving adventurous man in this montage, and I met him again on Nov 11, 2023. Keep on keeping on, you do nice work!!
What a stunning way to end this video! Wish we could have spent more time hanging out, but it was a pleasure to meet you on this visit and I hope you make it out this way again my friend.
Yes , will you be exploring any trails in the dessert ? At least the town is geared for out door living and should have all that you need for supplies.@@athenasadventure
Thank you… I’m afraid of snakes… so nothing is stored near the tents. Recently rattler was found under a upside down bucket next to someone’s tent. I do a regular check around my gear that is set out. With a dog, an emergency veterinarian is at least 30 min. Away, and thats if they will take you. Gotta be smart
Its heavy... but packs down to a doable size. Ilove; the room it provides. Feels like a small bedroom. With all the windows open, its light and airy. Like a screen tent. It will hold up to very heavy weather. It can task you to set up. But its not hard. I replaced hammer in steaks with 8" long by 3/8 lag bolts that i use a drill to anchor them into the ground... the hardest part of the job made easy. Please look me up on fb. Pictures are worth a thousand words. i have some ideas that you can see on my fb acct. Chris Smigel Solar /battery (power station) /fridge is my set up... ive found, a 75w solar panel is just enough to make the fridge work great. Had it set on the cold side, 30, but was always slightly higher.. Stay cool
