+Teena Thomas, unfortunately this 10" doily is no longer available. We've updated the project using an 8" doily. You can find this doily here under embellishments www.downloadandprint.com/supplies/ Also check the projects section on our website for the updated tutorial.
Hi Miriam, all the supplies we use in our tutorials can be found here: www.downloadandprint.com/supplies/ Look under embellishments for sealing wax. Have fun with the project!
Yes! The fabric is magic :) We used the photo fabric designed for inkjet printers and it worked great. You can find it here under embellishments www.downloadandprint.com/supplies/
I'm assuming this would need to go into an envelope in order to mail it so nothing in the pocket slides out the top? I'm going to show this to my daughter to see if she would like to do this for her wedding. Thank you for an amazing video.
Thanks for the great video and especially the free template! I was wondering if you have other templates for other large flowers on your website. I tried to look but I couldn't find any. Also, FYI I wanted to sign up to your newsletter email on your website and it said my request could not be processed because you had too many requests. I've never seen that before. I guess if you have to have a problem, that's a good one to have. Ha ha. Just thought you might want to know. Also, your other work is amazing too! You are great at what you do! Thanks again!
Hi Miss Davis! Thanks so much for your kind words :) We're blushing just a little. Unfortunately we don't have any other templates for large flowers. We do have a template and tutorial for smaller flowers that can be used for boutonnieres etc. I've never seen that error message either relating to the newsletter sign up. We're looking into it, if you are still interested in receiving our weekly email please try again to sign up. Have a great day!
We like Epson printers. You can find two options at different price points here. The less expensive one works great :) www.downloadandprint.com/supplies/
Can you buy the vellum paper, save the template with my information on it and take it to staples to print and cut. I have an epson printer it works great but I'd rather have someone else do the printing and cutting because that is a lot of ink and not sure how well my printer will perform?
Yes! As long as the print shop is happy to print on vellum for you our template file can be emailed to them for reproduction. We have a copyright release we can provide if they ask whether you have permission to print the file. Have fun with the project!
Hi Jeannie, the invitation template can be purchased at www.downloadandprint.com/ornate-vintage/ . The rose background is a free download also on our website. Check out the projects section. Thanks!
Ha. Nobody has time to do 150+ invitations like this and have them come out looking professional... Yes it will work for a small amount but its not really feasible for large quantities.
It certainly is a time commitment and if craft projects aren't your favorite thing, then it's going to take a really long time :) But others find the time and effort worthwhile as you save so much money. To make things a little easier plan well in advance and give yourself many weeks to create the invitations. A little at a time will keep you sane and will keep them all looking great.
This will depend on the size invitation you are using. If you are using the 5.25" square invitation you can use a 5.5" square envelope, or slightly larger.
Hi Latoya, yes, 10" doilies are very hard to find! I'd like to say our tutorial caused a worldwide shortage on them :) We updated the tutorial to use 8" doilies as these are easy to find. You can view the updated tutorial here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cwoJtbBrCUY.html And we have a link to the doilies on the website: www.downloadandprint.com/supplies/ Have fun with the project!
Yes! The same template can be used. The 8" doilies won't cross over as far on the invitation. Look at the updated video for how the invitation and doily will look. I think it looks nicer as more of the invitation shows through the doily.
Hello I was searching for the link on the free template used on the video, but the ones I've seen (on your website) do not include the little square name tag. Please help....
The 10" doilies are almost impossible to find now, so we've updated the project using 8" doilies which you can find easily online. See the updated project here: www.downloadandprint.com/blog/diy-vintage-iron-wedding-invitation/ We've linked to doily suppliers here (scroll down to embellishments): www.downloadandprint.com/supplies/
thanks for this, suddenly decided to change my invitations to a pocketfold design, but cant seem to buy pre made ones in the UK, so was looking for a way to make one. Your tutorial is very helpful :)
The template can be downloaded from here: www.downloadandprint.com/blog/how-to-make-giant-paper-roses/ If you have trouble with the download leave us a comment on the post and we'll email the template to you.
Excellent question. The price will depend on how much you pay for the doilies. You'll need 2-3 cans of spray paint, 50 sheets of paper plus a few extras to print test copies, toner for your printer, envelopes and doilies. As a very rough estimate I think you'll spend between $60-$70, plus the price of the invitation template.
I recommend paper between 65 lbs and 90 lbs. Choose the heaviest paper that your printer will print on without jamming. Here is a list of our favorite paper: www.downloadandprint.com/paper-and-envelopes/
This is gorgeous! I was wondering how many cans of spray paint did you go through for the doilies? If one plans on making 250-300 invitations; how much spray paint is required. Thank you for this wonderful tutorial!
Hi Bill, I've never used TRF so can't comment from experience. However, my gut feeling is it will not work. The vellum is very flimsy which is not good with TRF, and vellum is often used as a protective cover sheet going into the laminator, which makes me think the foil won't adhere to it. If anyone else can speak from experience please chime in!
hallo wonderful job I can't understand this gold vellum paper actually I couldnt find. And this vellum paper has a black color too? I am not in usa so no Michaels :) Ty hıg&kisses
Vellum paper is a translucent paper, often with a sheen, and it's quite slick. It's usually clear, but comes in many colors. There's a link to it on our website: www.downloadandprint.com/paper-and-envelopes/ I would think any large craft store in your country would carry it, or if you have an Amazon.com equivalent you could try there. Good luck!
Hi! Yes, it would work. You would also need to make sure your enclosure cards don't exceed 5" tall. Our typical RSVP cards are 3.5" x 5" and we have some directions cards that are 4 x 6". You would need to use a directions card that is also 3.5" x 5". Have fun with the project!
Thanks for asking! You can save the video to Pinterest, or click the link to the written tutorial and any of the pictures in that post can be shared. The written tutorial is here: www.downloadandprint.com/blog/pretty-doily-envelope-liner/
Hi Sarah, Yes this freebie is black and gold and unfortunately the colors can't be changed in MS Word. We do have a navy and gold version in the paid collection. You will also have access to the Photoshop files and can change the colors to any that you like. All the details are here: www.downloadandprint.com/pricing/
The envelope that becomes the "pocket" is a 4-bar envelope. This is the same size envelope that the RSVP card fits into (the RSVP car is 3.5x5"). You can view the written tutorial here which lists all the sizes: www.downloadandprint.com/blog/hack-an-envelope-into-a-pocket-invitation/
I recommend using a Low Odor water based spray paint. Krylon's H20 Latex spray paint is water-based, non-toxic and low-odor. Also make sure the paint can be used on paper, this is most important!
