Tiny trainers are coming to velocidrone very soon, I heard as soon as the next couple weeks. Lets hope they do them justice it will make some fun sim racing
This was just a test to see if this was a way to show something close to 90fps on youtube since it isn't currently supported. I think the 90fps camera is very worth it. The main problem is the wait time to get more of them.
This was my first time really racing with it and I enjoyed it. I didn't have any issues all night. I know of at least two more pilots in my area that are flying with it. I'm hoping to see more soon since the RX price was reduced. I think it is easily worth the upgrade price.
Thanks for posting this! It's pretty hard to find photos or videos of Texcotzingo which get the full scale of the site across, so this is awesome to see. I'm curious though if the footage is speed up, it seems pretty fast: If so and you still have the footage at the original speed, I'd love to see that, too, so I could get an even clearer view of the site from the footage!
Hi MajoraZ. This was filmed with what is essentially a racing drone, not a DJI type aerial photography drone, so what you see is the original speed. I only had the opportunity to fly two batteries, which for these drones only last 2-3 minutes, and it was rather windy that day. I wish had had take a bit more time and had tried to get some slower, more cinematic shots. Thanks for your comment!
Yes that's right, and it effectively LIMITS the max throttle without having to use the configurator so it can be adjusted easily in the field. But thanks so very much for your very helpful comment.
I think I've only damaged 1, and that was from some aggressive turtle mode while one of the motors was stuck in the ground/grass. They have been very reliable for me. I've been flying them on 6S for well over a year.
I know it's only rated for 4s, this was an experiment. This was meant to be a torture test for a reason. Lots of high throttle maneuvers to see if anything would fail. So far, so good for this combination at least. I have probably put 5 or 6 batteries through it.
Eric Dunlap, these motors use the 22xx motor spacing. I have liked them so far. I think that the hyperlite 2205 motors may be a better choice since they are only about 4 grams heavier but should have significantly more torque.
Chase Porter are they not tourqeie? They are 2552kv should be just as tourqe. I have the bother hobby r4 which are the same im just looking to shave weight.
Eric Dunlap, the 2205 is a bigger (taller) motor and uses bigger magnets, so it should have more torque. The R4 motors are 2206 and so they are even bigger. The biggest limitation when using these 2204s is prop selection. You shouldn't use tri-blades with anything more than a 5040 pitch, and they need to be light weight. I have used some biblade props (dal 5050 and gemfan 5152) but the motors can come down pretty warm. A 2205 will do a better job handling a larger selection of props with minimal added weight over the 2204.
This was probably just some worn out bearings. The motors performed well once it was in the air. I was using a NAZE32 rev6 at the time that had noisy gyro issues too. Once I moved to a better FC, everything was fine.
Thanks! I think this frame is really intended to be used with 4in1 ESCs, but I used individual ESCs mounted to the bottom of the arms to hopefully avoid prop strikes. Be aware that there is minimal protection for camera and the flight stack. I haven't had any problems with the frame so far though and it feels incredible in the air.
You're welcome. I just swapped the motors on this frame from the luminier 2204 2500kv skitzos to the hyperlight 2204 2522kv Floss series motors. Hoping to gain a bit more power/torque without adding any weight.
+Karstacus Lately I have been getting all my props from twistedquads.com. They stock a lot of DAL and Gemfan props at reasonable prices with quick shipping. Now that I think of it though, these were gemfan 5x4.5x3 props, not DAL 5x4x3.
