Congratulations ! The only person on You Tube that knows how to change the fuel filter on a 1998-2002 Honda Accord ! A whole lot of people are sending others into the tank to the pump strainer ! If you change the title to "'How to change the ACTUAL fuel filter..." I guarantee you will get a lot more views ! Its in the same location with the V6 4 door and Coupes too . I live in the UK and normally the 10mm AF bolts for the shroud and filter are rusty . The shroud one invariably shears , so I protect the replacement with some pipe insulation and cable ties . Cleaning those push/draw clips with some aerosol spray before removing helps too . A common problem is that a replacement pump performed incorrectly as I found in one of my cars , allows the pump strainer to pop off during reinstall leaving the strainer to float around in the tank and this will sometimes block the fuel pump inlet and cut the engine and also allows the pump to pick up all the junk in the tank . If you found your filter this clogged then check your fuel pump strainer is still in place .
Amen! I didn't use the word actual but this video was indeed the only information I found, not just on RU-vid but on the whole internet, to figure out where the location of the fuel filter is. My accord is from 2000 and also had the original filter, the bolts did break immediately so I drilled them out and used new bolts with nuts.
the filter is in the tank according to HONDA's own service manual for the 1998 to 2001 2.3l and the 3.0l. its apart of the housing, please dont post false info. i have the service manuel up for both 2.3l and 3.0l. this comment can and probably did drive others crazy looking for something that isnt there.
@@yoshimister2566 I own 2 x 3.0 V6 Accord Coupes one 1999 in Emerald Green, one 2000 in Satin Silver and they both have an external filters where I've described . The fuel lines under the plastic protective racking are prone to corrode on these models , depending on climate . The button fasteners are particularly difficult to remove to access the fuel lines . All Honda internal pumps have a sock type pre filter as do most other vehicles I've ever had the pleasure to remove a fuel pump from but this is not the filter that is replaced during a service . Between my family we have 10 Hondas of differing models spanning 96-04 and I have been modifying and racing Hondas on and off since the 90s .
