Marcus King is so great that when he plays like this on his own, or live with his ensemble, it's actually much better than on the recorded albums. Hopefully, with these Shangri-La sessions, the Cardboard Sessions, and the Carter Vintage guitar recordings, that's being figured out. When you're trying to catch lighting in a bottle, I think best throw up your best mics in a good space, hit record, and ... step way the ... back.
