I own and personally like this model - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-X8O0a-pPlZw.htmlsi=V5kvY6z4tlM5Gqx_ But, if you’re looking for a more traditional model I’d suggest eBay.
I don’t think there’s a long term or resale value to any of these watches. Sadly at this price point they’re mostly disposable - Costs more to service and fix than to buy again new.
I actually wrote to Citizen and told them their price is outrageous. It is the worst possible marketing to make a product that your fans love and then basically say "you can't have it" with an outrageous price.
I get it. It’s not just a plain strap of leather though… a titanium Rolex doesn’t cost 15k either - there’s a build process, costs, and profits that have to be made.
@@roaminggene2619 that’s true. If I said that in the video… I misspoke. I actually own two of the first theee spring drives… One is Seiko and one is Credor. The third is a solid gold Seiko.
I really think the black magnetic strap looks the best, but honestly I can’t get enough of a metal strap, just feels more retro in my opinion, Just like my first watch (Casio A158WA-1, I’m not that old).
Do you have any recommendations for pocket watches that have a top case and keep time? I’m not too terribly fussy with the looks (though if this is a dream wishlist, I would prefer Arabic numerals to Roman numerals), just looking for something very reliable that won’t cost an arm and a leg. Thanks very much for doing these vids! Great resources for newbies
That’s a great question. Not very common to see that marking… That’s actually the movement size of the watch. Zero size watches come in several sizes….0 size, 00 size, 000 size, etc. 000 size is simplified to 3/0 size. 3/0 size is a relatively uncommon size. For that reason, a lot of cases of that size have the size marking on the case so you don’t accidentally put the wrong watch in the wrong case.
@@chucklachance your watch might be magnetized. Gaining that much time a day is very rare for an old pocket watch. The good news… demagnetization is very simple. Finding good service for these antique watches is getting harder and harder.
