It is possible to accept that everyone has the right to visit the place they want but it is not possible to accept collaboration with a dictatorship that is killing the Cuban people. People full of needs in Cuba, and all because that murderous dictatorship steals the money that tourists bring and uses it to promote dictatorships in other countries and that lead to the impoverishment of entire societies. You must be ashamed to collaborate with them and at the same time lie when you say that you love Cuba and Cubans. That is a great shame because all that money, far from helping the Cuban people, is plunging them into slavery and poverty. Money used to buy means of repression and increase their personal accounts in other countries to guarantee only their future and that of their families while the people go to hell Open your consciences and stop traveling to Cuba until it is a free country, without political prisoners without repression , without hunger. The services, the food and the resorts are also in a very bad conditions specially the medical services. It will be terrible if you get sick overthere. The country is currently experiencing an outbreak of a mosquito-borne disease. This disease is called Oropouche and causes very annoying and dangerous symptoms such as nausea, fever, headaches, decline in appetite and in some cases can cause a kind of meningitis. The dictatorship does not have all the means and resources to provide medical attention for the people or visitors.If they tell you otherwise , do not believe them because it is a big lie. The dictatorship has gained thousands of people since the early 1990s thanks to tourism but not a single penny of that money has been used to improve the lives of this people but to support and collaborate with other dictatorships in the region and the most visible recent example is what is happening in Venezuela where there are thousands of Cuban minions paid by the dictatorship to massacre, repress , imprison and violate the human rights of the people of Venezuela. It is time not to travel to Cuba, that bad government has destroyed a jewel in the Caribbean and you can collaborate and much in the elimination of that dictatorship. Make us aware and help us with your understanding DO NOT TRAVEL TO CUBA, FREEDOM FOR ALL POLITICAL PRISONERS IN THE PRISONS OF THE DICTATORSHIP. NO COMMUNISM. DOWN WITH THE CASTRO-CANEL DICTATORSHIP
@@fan1080Travels thanks! Yes, this will be our 6th trip to Cuba but first after covid! Been to DR and Mexico but beaches cant be beat in Cuba.First adults only as well!
@@cind3913 couldn't agree more about the beaches in Cuba, especially at Cayo Santa Maria, absolutely gourgeous. Adult only is great, but keep in mind they tend to be a little more on the quiet side as far as having a party atmosphere. There will still be plenty of adult drunken shenanigans, but not as much as at other resorts. Have a great vacation!
Thank you for sharing! Thinking about which resort to go to in August, and I couldn't find the food menu anywhere. Love how they're open late a lot, and the desserts look great!

Hi Ted, thanks for watching our videos and subscribing. I would lean towards Sanctuary. More options for food (when you include the market area options, even though they are an extra cost), and the beach at Sanctuary is much better than Playa Costa Verde.
There are umbrellas around, and lots of palapas on the beach. As for why there are few guests around, it's due to a few reasons.. I tend to video early morning before most folks are up and about, this was recorded in the fall, low season, and it's just following resorts reopening after covid closures. 🙂
@@fan1080Travels Yea it looks early. How early would you say you need to get to the pool to grab a spot? Also, I would love to know your favorite food items at various restaurants since some things are kind of bland.
@@katiereisler1145 We always get to the pool or beach before we go to Breakfast to get a nice location. Then head over to the buffet for when it opens. This isn't ideal for many people, but we are early to bed every night, rarely stay up past 9pm. It also varies from resort to resort, time of year you are traveling, and how many folks are like minded with getting up early (especially if there are quite a few that play the towel game). So many factors dictate what time is ideal to get a spot, which is why we like to get there early. As far as food... well, that's a rather difficult one. Food is very subjective, what we find good, will be, and has been, someone else's disgusting chow. We are not picky eaters and have never had an issue with the food while traveling. Sorry, I wish I could help you further with the food, it's a topic that has baffled me (as to why some folks find the food disgusting) over my many years of traveling.
There are no limits on the number of A La Cartes. However, it wasn't always very easy to book them. You have to book them through your butler, daily, but each butler has a limited number of tables available to book and they tend to book up fast. To be sure you do get something, see your butler first thing each morning.
Great video! I’ve watched around 5 times to get to know the place so won’t be lost when we get there. My question is. If we’re at Memories are you allowed to swim at Paraiso or sanctuary pools?
Food and drinks were ok. There were shortages of various items (eggs, bacon, etc), but you could always find something to eat. IMO, no one should go to Cuba for the food or drinks. They have a supply chain issue that will not be going away anytime soon.

Food is very subjective. In our opinion, it was very good, but you'll also see many comments that the food is not that great. I never go to an all-inclusive expecting a world-class culinary experience.
Hi there! Great video! ON the map noticed it does not look that close to beach?? Is it close? Also are there carts with staff throughout that take you where ya wanna go? thx so much!Im a vegan and we cannot be anywhere near a pig roast!!! I was looking for more fruit and veggies.

@@Paterson340 the resort was ok, typical for Cuba. Food was nothing special, there was always something to eat. The drinks were the worst part. Constantly running out of supplies, and sometimes only diet cola for mix (Cuban cola, no coke/pepsi when we were there). The pig on the spit happens once a week, and is located right outside the main buffet next to the pool, really hard not to see it, but you could avoid it if absolutely necessary.
Dreams Macao Beach is the only resort in that immediate area. Punta Cana resort are spread out over about 40-50 kms, dozens of options. To date, our favorite resorts have been Secrets Royal Beach and Excellence.
Cuba will likely continue to have supply chain issues for some time to come. It's all about knowing there could be issues and accepting what comes our way. We will go back to Cuba in the future, but we like to try other resorts.
Great video. Is there an elevator available to get from the pool level to the main lobby? I want to bring my mom here, but she definitely wouldn't be able to manage all those stairs.
Been there 3 times, bartender at pool is Jesus has his own restaurant which we went was a great night, Ricardo the guy walks around selling cigars and shots
This video make this place look so nice, but I was there 2 weeks ago, it was falling apart, dirty and should be shut down. In other words, don't wast your money coming here, it's a dump.
Great video. Have been to Cuba 5 times but with the issues think I will pass at this time. The price can't be beat though. Maybe I will vacation every other year to go to some place more expensive.
With my travelling experience, it's a very honest review. In the last 15 years, I've travelled to Cuba more than 20 times (Varadero, Holguin, Havana, All Cayos) and I fall for Cayo Santa Maria. Of course, you're not going there for the gastronomy, the 5 stars deco with all the bling, bling!. The main reason is $$$, weather and it's beaches. Cuban people are amazing, they do miracles with what they have and they also (for the majority!) show a great sense of hospitality. The beaches, do I need to comment! Really? They are going thru rought times due to the international political situation. I'm not going to comment, that's not the place. With my wife we have traveled almost all over the Caribbean, always taking a break from our cold Canadian winter, and no resort has impressed us as much as Dreams Macao. We were there the 2nd week of this January 2024 with our daughter and three grandchildren... the resort is very clean and very well looked after, nice swimming pools and lazy river, the beach is beautiful and the food is excellent. We had the luck of meeting the resort's sous-chef, Octavio Cerna Alfaro, and were very impressed. We will most certainly go back to Dreams Macao

This review was great. Your security issue may of just been a deal breaker for me. Was the beach rough. Specifically would it be too rough for children?
Unless the children are very good swimmers, it would not be suggested to allow them in alone, in my opinion. The big waves are fun, but can also catch you off guard.
Cuba has some challenges that Punta Cana does not. Mostly with the supply of food and drinks. Cuba has long struggled to keep up with demand in that regard. That doesn't mean you'll go hungry or not have a drink available, but there will be a shortage of options at times. For instance, you may not be able to get your favorite drink in Cuba at times during the day, and the food can be repetitive. Punta Cana has access to a better supply chain and will not have those issues like Cuba. There could be an odd instance of it in Punta Cana now and then, but Cuba can experience this daily. Typically, the cost to vacation in Cuba will be much less expensive than other destinations. If you go with an open mind and know these issues ahead of time, Cuba can be an awesome vacation destination, but it's certainly not for everyone. In my opinion, it's not really fair to compare resorts in Cuba to resorts in Punta Cana.
