Dude this was Schuyler’s very first attempt at a premium Bible using Nelson’s old text block. This Schuyler is as old as time now. All their new Quentels are outstanding. Reviewing a Bible this old and this early in Schuyler’s publishing game as though it’s a new Bible was really unfair.

All this information is purely your own preference. Not everyone will be an evangelist or a preacher, so not "every christian" will need so many biblies. As for these ones you have presented, only one of them would be of any use to me as a bible student - The small "carry to church" bible. For my own personal studies I use The Companion Bible, The Thompson Chain Reference Bible and another one with wide margins where the margins are about three times wider than the ones you've shown. I also use numerous encyclopaedias and reference books to help with background information. Alongside all these I also use a poplular computer bible. We all study God's Word in our own individual way and therefore we each chose the authentic bible that suits us.
@frostLeather

I agree! A set like this though would certainly be a blessing to any Christian.

Most of the Bibles I purchased in the 80’s, 90’s and the 2000’s were Bonded leather. While there has been some wear, I have found the best protection is a Bible cover, like a word keeper. This is an inexpensive way to protect it and some have other benefits, like a pouch for loose papers, a pen loop or pockets for multiple pens, or even a flap to hold a small notepad. Even my hardcover Thompson Chain printed in 198

Sometimes a Bible cover will do more damage, tearing away the cover from the bible. But if it's made well it won't cause that. Blessings!

As a believer there is nothing that you'd love more than a Bible. You always want to carry it with you. Read it, write in it make notes in it and make notes with it. However I recently came across this new stuff about premium Bibles! What is the purpose of a Bible? Why are the premium Bibles sooo expensive? I finally got myself the famous Concord wide margin (calfskin) which was very much expensive. Funny thing is this isn't the premium one yet. The goat skin one is their premium one which costs twice the price. No doubt that I really enjoy my wide margin Bible, but I seriously didn't understand why this Bible is that expensive. I do have a holman and Thomas Nelson study bibles which are bound in leather but they literally cost way less than the cambridge wide margin. While the Concord wide margin is a must have Bible, it doesn't justify that it is way too expensive. I seriously don't understand why"Bible manufacturers" make Bibles soo expensive. They are really well crafted and made to last but the price should be more affordable. Were talking about Bibles and not smartphones. As much as I wish I had a humble lamb. Their price seems way too much. I'd rather buy 15 Bibles and give them away to people who love to have a Bible.
@frostLeather
@frostLeather 20 минут назад
Each person has to decide if the price of a premium bible is justifiable. Some make really good money and spending $200+ on a bible is not difficult, others $50 would be more reasonable for their budget. Others are perfectly content with a cheap bible, some want a bible to truly last and happy to pay for it. The reason a Cambridge is more expensive than say a Nelson, is they use much better paper, increasingly better spine reinforcement, and the binding of the Bible itself is done tighter with more signatures, and they are printed by jongbloed in the Netherlands instead of China or Korea. All of these attributes allow the Bible to last longer and cost more. 10 years ago premium bibles were much cheaper, prices have slowly risen through the years.

It seems you've lost your way brother. The received text (Textus Receptus) is the pure traditional uncorrupted word preserved by God, not the critical text. The NLT, ESV, NIV come from a polluted stream and if you think otherwise then unfortunately you have been deceived. Even the NKJV follows the critical text in many places. Search for Westcott and Horts magic marker and you will see just some of what has happened to the underlying critical text. Its not just about translation but about what they teach. See Titus 3:10 as just one example - The NLT, ESV, NIV and even the NKJV teach that you should reject and have nothing to do with a divisive man, meanwhile Jesus said in Matthew 25:31-32 and Luke 12:51 that He came to cause division and divide the sheep from the goats, in fact Jesus caused division. See John 7:43, John 9:16, John 10:19 for more proof. Jusus was divisive, but He was not a heretic. The new translations would have you reject a pastor for causing division and being factious and intolerant instead of avoiding the heretics! Hopefully you will eventually find your way back to the Authorized Version. 1 Thess 5:21 - Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

You say things like the devil didn't have his hand in corrupting bible translations. If you really believed that you wouldn't take anything but the textus receptus because it was handed down through the ages as the "received text." These modern translations were written using constantly updating greek texts precisely because these so called scholars believe, or even think they know, that the Bible was corrupted. If not then where is 1 John 5:7 in the nlt? Exactly. So don't lie. Unless you want to demonstrate how ancient a "28th edition" of the original languages is. 28? Cut me a break. The muslims who charge us with changing our bibles aren't lying when the "original language" greek and Hebrew are in their 28th edition! That's 28 times it was messed with, in the original greek!!!! The two texts you showed, one from the nkjv and the other from the nlt aren't saying the same thing. Read them again. One is a blessing, the other is a statement. The one is an increase in the fruits of your labor the other is an increase in resources. The one is the fruits of righteousness, the other specifies only generosity. The one is a translation of what it actually says, the other is a straight up paraphrase... And a poor one at that. Real men learn facts, not invent them.
