Hi! I'm an American who has chosen to spend the foreseeable future living in other countries while working remotely.
Jan 2021 - Jan 2023: Barbados Feb 2023 - present: Madeira
Join me as I document the digital nomad life!
- My videos will cover both the spectacular and the mundane aspects of life in other countries. - Most videos will include binaural audio, which *requires headphones* when listening to get the full binaural audio effect. Binaural audio recording is a significantly under-explored method of recording sound, one that I have been interested in for a while. - I am an audio engineer by profession, so you will have to forgive me if the videography isn't amazing. I try to shoot all video in 4k with my GoPro. - Leave a comment, ask a question, make a request! I plan on being highly interactive in the comment section.
One of the best travel videos I’ve ever seen. Love your style with using photos and keeping it faceless and truly keeping it informative/very helpful. Great job! 🔥❤️🔥
Dad: Wow look at that spiky tree Me: Don't touch it it obviously doesn't want to be touched. A few moments later as I walk ahead I hear "OW!" and my mom and I just toss our hands in the air in exasperation. My Mother is Bajan and we've been coming to the island almost every Christmas to see family but hadn't been to the gully in years and wanted to see how it changed. It changed a lot from when I was younger! More paved roads, more informational signs, saw some monkeys even! And of course my Dad had to touch the tree that clearly did not want to be touched it was covered in giant spikes! Good thing we had antiseptic gel on us. smh
Never been to bajan country know a few people from there would like to visit someday nicely done from personal experience comparing to the thin dry air of Colorado
Hello, 🐦🐦🐦May I share an Old Testament Verse with you from Daniel 7:14 "And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a Kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should SERVE Him; his dominion is an Everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom shall not pass away, and His Kingdom that which shall not be destroyed." God the Father loves you so much that He sent Holy Sinless Jesus (His Holy Son) to earth to be born of a virgin. Then, to grow up and die on a cross for our sins. He was in the tomb for 3 days, then Father God raised Holy and Sinless Jesus Christ (Y'shua) to Life! He appeared to people and went back to Heaven. We must receive Sinless Jesus sincerely to be God's child(John 1:12).After we get saved by grace through faith in Christ, if we truly love the Lord Jesus Christ, then we will obey Jesus(John 14:15). Mark 1:15 "And saying, the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: Repent ye, and believe the gospel." Jesus said in John 14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. "There's a real hell. It says in Revelation 21:8 "But for the cowardly, & unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, & immoral persons sorcerers & idolaters & all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire & brimstone..." Please sincerely receive Holy Jesus and put your true faith and trust in Him today and please repent. Will you have a Real encounter with Holy Lord Jesus (Y'shua is His Hebrew Name) and stay in a Genuine relationship with Him daily please?
This was informative and enjoyable! I've been to Barbados a few times, but I haven't done half the things you outlined. Definitely will need to visit again and do more things! Have fun in Madeira! Maybe your next stop could be my beautiful island of Bermuda!
Hi I don't mean to be to nosy.. but do you mind telling me what kind of remote job you do? I´m currently trying to figure out a good field to study to find remote jobs. Thanks.
Let's start with that the west coast is the most expensive place to visit. On a budget video a coffee and pastry anywhere on the south is $12 max. A lemonade is a chaser.. $6 max. For a good meal champers will run you 60 and be better. You went from the west to the east. But didn't mention the south.
Good morning Appreciate your video it was so on point and informative to us especially those three things that you say was bad not all it was very informative .
Good morning I am a Proud Barbadian Thank you for that amazing video of my Beautiful island Barbados is only 166square miles but you will be surprised they is so much to see that many people living there never see or visit Thanks for people like you for sharing these videos ❤❤❤🎉😂
Hi Jeddy Dan, thank you for the message. I've been wrestling with the idea of putting an end to my video-making. Life here is busy and full of new opportunities, and I find myself short on time to record, edit, and share new videos. I realize that's maybe a little disappointing to people who were hoping to see what Madeira is like, but for now my channel is on pause. We'll see what the future holds.
As a Bajan living on island this was very nice. I say though that while the cost of setting up a website is doable, it is the cost of being able to take payments through the website that can be complicated and cost prohibitive for many entrepreneurs.
Hi, Where can I find videos with retired folks over 60 living in Barbados? And do you have any videos about why you chose Barbados over other island countries? Was one reason because Bridgetown isn't covered in steep streets like other places such as Grenada and even Medellin, Colombia?
I have made more than 100 trips to Barbados in the last half century--the most recent of which was an 18-month stay in 2021-22--and I can vouch for the accuracy and insights contained I this travelog. I would only add that the Bajans (as they call themselves) are initially formal but, if you introduce yourself, warm, hospitable, helpful, friendly, literate and honest. Edwin Bayrd
