This happy place is for sharing bonus content for my books. Readers and viewers can learn more about vintage Christmas including ornaments, stamps, and trees. My other books are stories that celebrate people like J.J. Brown, husband of Unsinkable Margaret "Molly Brown" and an inspiring high school football team.
New Book…how did you sneak that in! Love your new cover for immigrants too. I’m goIng to send the war tree phots this year…I have some nice finishing touches. Hope you are well , we missed you…. G
Excited about the new book! Looks like no ladies on the Christmas Stamp Committee, typical of that time period. I’m old school. I still send out Christmas cards and affix them with the latest Christmas stamp. Thanks.
Sharon, You are the reason I wrote the book for. I thought the supporters of Christmas stamps might want to know the back stories of debate and intrique. I won't spoil the book but the first woman on CSAC lasted only two meetings. Thanks for watching.
I was surprised to discover a few years ago that one of our old ornament boxes was stamped Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Now I know why. Thank you so much for your knowledge and for making me feel validated in loving vintage Christmas ornaments. Looking forward to more videos.
Sharon, if you get a chance can you email me a box picture with the address? I'd like it for my archives. Appreciate the help. booksbyjody2021@gmail.com
So excited to see a new video. I never heard of Coby before. Thanks for good information in your videos and both of your books! I reference your books all the time and sometimes I just look through them and dream of my next score!

I have one of the 1946 bells with the yellow at the top and blue on the bottom. I was wondering about it. I currently have it for sale online. I had no idea what year it was. The cap just says 'made in USA'. It doesn't say 'made in US of A'. Otherwise it looks exactly like what you are showing in the video. So I'm really not sure if it's 1946.
Sheila, Thanks for watching and you'll get the fever for hunting vintage ornaments. Here is the lengthy link to my Vintage American-Made Glass book: www.amazon.com/Vintage-American-Made-Glass-Christmas-Ornaments/dp/B0B7K4GXTQ/ref=sr_1_1?crid=ET2PO0GOJXFV&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.u7jF7kH8oszXtxDOQG1N9zBwfFqkLtxFTJhTA1186jKYN4t2FV7SRboJUp7Wc1tvenjfL36LMrBqjPJ95ynX1sHH3ZglE3AwWKNADjTvKPtiHMdEvyYbWXrhF0y6nG5adTMszFQGmhNYziSzlnW73urPALjqypkuPuFc-UxlOEo.Kh-RZ-vFf5_KXCLuEVLqsMK3fBJlWpJO3U8ng9BDnFg&dib_tag=se&keywords=vintage+american+made+glass+christmas+ornaments+book&qid=1724340574&sprefix=vintage+american+made+glass+christmas%2Caps%2C219&sr=8-1
Informative. So no more Premier designs after 1955; and one of the partners started Paragon in Maine. Fascinating, Paragon seemed to get their blanks from Corning, no? Also, I need to know more abt Cobe Glass Products. They appeared to get blanks from Corning too, but had exclusive designs from them, like the Santa figural ornament, the tree, and the rare clown shape.
Thanks for watching. I'm working on a Coby Glass video for the fall. Can you email me at booksbyjody2021@gmail.com with pictures of the santa figural, tree, and clown. I'm trying to place them on the timeline of shapes.
Hi Jody, I have a question maybe you can help me, I just purchased a Pom Pom aluminum tree, but have a smell like metal, do you have any suggestions how to get rid off that odor? Thanks
Hi, I bought some 60s vintage wreaths that had an odor of being stored in a woodshed guarded by skunks. So, I put a couple of Bounce dryer sheets in the box with the wreaths for a week, at least they smelled 70% better. Good luck.
Great Book Jody. Certainly brought back a lot of memories. I was watching that game as a Freshman at Two Rivers. I was fortunate enough to play on the 3rd championship in 82. Everyone from that era should get this book
Thanks for your kind words and congratulations on the 82 championship! To be the three-peaters was high expectations and you were worthy of the challenge. Would appreciate any help in spreading the word to your alumni teammates I did see the Coach in February. If you would like his contact information, email me at booksbyjody2021@gmail.com.
I'd like to thank our American and Canadian cousins for sending aid over the pond in our time of need. Rationing didn't end completely in the UK until 1954. My parents were married on Christmas Eve 1947 and I still have some of their original decorations they bought over the next few years. Last year I bought a silver tinsel tree in their honour, it will never been an Evergleam but I believe there are a few Evergleams in the UK brought over by the US forces stationed here after the war. I don't think they were ever retailed here.
Wow, this is more than fascinating! Think you need to add “ Investigative Reporter” to your boundless litany of talents. My, there is no stopping you! I’m saving this book for my summer read on Lake Michigan. Hope your Mom is doing well. Gay
How exciting to change history! Jody you continue to amaze me. As a researcher/treasure hunter this is definitely gold. I can’t wait to see what else you accomplish. Hope you are doing well, Gay
Didn’t realize what we had until I watched your informative video. The ornaments were my husband’s grandmother. They hang on our Christmas Tree every year.❤️ Now I know the history of them. Thank-you.😃
Some very nice baubles there. In recent years, here in the UK, I've been collecting vintage spun silk baubles. Do you have any of these, what are your thoughts on them?
Thanks for watching in the UK. I do not have any spun silk baubles. Robert Brenner, the guru of Christmas ornaments, has published several books on international creations and his research might be of help to you.
Email photos of your decorations to booksbyjody2021@gmail.com and I'll post them under the Share Your Tree section on my website booksbyjody.com Merry Christmas
Nice way to show it off. This year I found my Franke Toy stencil holy grail ornament from my childhood. It's on my tree front and center. Merry Christmas!
Hi! Is there a way to clean vintage ornaments without ruining them? I have some that look like they have a film of dust and I would love to clean them but afraid to ruin them.
Except for knocking off the dust, the enjoyment will be in the imperfections caused by time. Alan, another viewer, just sent me a picture (through booksbyjody2021@gmail.com) of a 1970s Corning box with the cleaning instructions which are basically, don't clean. The text said, "Wipe only with a soft dry cloth. Do not use water, detergent, or cleanser." I have tried many times to clean a few cast-offs that I cared little for, to no avail. Jody
Thank you for the information in your books. You are very knowledgeable and thorough in your research. Love your videos. Please thank your hubby too! Blessings and have a wonderful Christmas with your family and friends.☺🎄🌟
