Well done for fixing it. I could not believe the irksomeness of taking the carb off mine to clean it, only to find the float chamber seal leaking when reassembled!
Hey man Iv got a crf 450r 04 with no spark but the bike has had everything new like coil pack, stator and cdi but she still won’t spark, loom is all good, I was told the flywheel could be bad but I don’t know much about fly wheels could you help me please dude
As much as I miss that bike (rode it for about 15 years) Im very glad that you got her back on the road. Thats the downside of not knowing how to work on it myself, taking it to a mechanic gets expensive fast. Did you have to do much to fix the brakes? She always did start up great, it was the stopping I had worries about.
Two things for you or your dad to check, since this is used: First, there's a small M6 dowel pin that fits into a gear under the clutch basket that turns another gear attached to the oil pump. These are frequently lost on Savages that people have done shade tree engine work on. Second, the cam chain tensioner, which can overextend as the chain wears, come apart, and do terrible things to the engine. You can hear the cam chain rattling if the tensioner is near destruction, but by then it's dangerous, so best to check before you can hear it. There are good vids on youtube on both. Other than that, this is one of my favorite motorcycles of all time. Fantastic little bikes. Nicely done. 👍
Maybe you wouldn’t have been working all through the night if you actually learnt how to start a 4 stroke! ……..do you even know what a decompression lever does? You don’t start a 4 stroke motor like a 2 stroke!
@@martinroycroft the hot start lets in a larger volume of air, and it also has an automatic decompression mechanism…..you still don’t start it like a 2stroke motor.

I really would have liked to see you finish this rebuild and actually see you get it running you could have got a new kick starter and case cover this is what the ppl want they don't wanna see someone give up on a project that was an easy fix brother next time dint give up so quickly
