We live, survive and thrive outdoors in Alaska! We retired from military service and settled in Alaska! Follow along on our journey raising animals, in the garden and of course outdoors in beautiful Alaska catching much of our food!

Heading to cooper landing next week for some flossing. The only way to catch them. Not like silvers who actively feed

So many people hate on flossing, but the way I see it is if the fish is hooked in the mouth, he’s hooked in the mouth and that’s all there is to it, it’s legit and very different from snagging.

Flossing is fishing change my mind! Fishing pole, fishing line, fishing hook, fishing net and fish hooked in the mouth = Fishing! Thanks for watching and commenting! I agree it is a great way we fill the freezer! Tight lines!

it was so wonderful. do not single out anyone for special praise, in their culture it is offensive. praise the entire group only, they are cooperative and not competitive like the nasty majority white culture. they are not selfish like the outsiders and you embarras them.

I'm not a fisherman, but this is really cool! A friendly suggestion: find some ourdoorsy/gentle no royalty/royalty free music and a small 10 second mix of various outdoor scenes in Alaska. The country is beautiful, and having a little intro clip to pull viewers in may help. I learned the hard way that just having an intro and more polish helps draw more viewers. Other than that you're doing great work! (This is June, btw)

Ok this guy probably knows better than me, but wouldn't dirt kill a chain pretty quick? Shouldn't you place those branches on a stump or something? I know he barely touches the dirt with it, but I've always been super careful about this on my own saws so let me know if it's no big deal.
@Our_life_outdoors_Alaska
@Our_life_outdoors_Alaska Год назад
Yes dirt would dull the chain you are right fortunately there is about 3 inches of saw dust there so no need to worry! You can feel pretty quickly if the chain is dulled after hitting dirt, a rock, or a nail in a tree. I hit a piece of metal in a tree yesterday and had to get to sharpening! Thanks for watching!
