Glad this popped up on my Instagram. Great Americana song and great storytelling. Something about this genre of music feels like it’s outside of time, like it carries a message for everyone. Keep it up!
This is terrific- The way the guitar picking fills and interweaves with the vocals is like water flowing around stones, and is set off nicely against the heartbreaking lyrics and video. Beautiful and haunting.
It's not just the real , ordinary folks of America that are hurting. This song reflects the pain , the suffering endured daily by ordinary humans all over the world. But that lone bright light that shines over us can bring some hope and inspiration into many. The day does not have to remain dark just because your situation seems so. All we can do is be good to each other. It takes very little effort. To be bad takes a lot of thought. I love this new song. It describes the whole world , not just America.
Stunning tune which I first heard sung by Jean Ritchie in the early 60s. She recorded it much in the same fashion as this tasteful rendition, in the 1950s.
