It took me some practice to get here, but once you get the hang of how different materials work, it is fairly easy! That's why I share this, so everyone knows that they can do it!
Ahahah I don't have a store, but I do commissions! If you're interested you can contact me via email, or dm me on Instagram! (They are both in the description) 👍🏻
Hi, that turned out nice! What kind of paint are you using? Seriously, it is the first time I am seeing someone mixing PVA with paint to use it as a primer. Is it some cheap acrylic artist paint? Sounds like a good idea...
Thank you! Yes, the paint I use as my primer mix is literally the cheapest I could find! Obviously its color is not great, and you can "feel" that is cheap, but it works just fine used like this
@@traylor2502 In my experience, unless you are painting miniatures (and even then, it depends) you can get away with using cheaper stuff for almost everything
They look great! I've always struggled with Styrofoam to make it look good, and the XPS foam a lot of RU-vidrs talk about is almost impossible to get here. Is there any issue with the flour + water mix getting moldy or anything over time?
Haven't had that problem honestly yet, so I don't think it's an issue. The only problem with the mix is that it might crack, but it isn't really noticeable. A good alternative to styrofoam, if you can't find xps, is high density styrofoam which should be easier to find. Works almost as good as xps
I've read that adding salt to the flour + water mix paste/glue will help prevent spoilage and getting moldy, and I think it depends on how it's stored too
@@selrahcmoonandstar that's a really smart idea with the salt. I'm in a very high humidity and often cold country so I was uncertain about well it would preserve over time, but I guess I'll have to give it a shot and see how it goes!
Nicely done. I agree with you in regards of the glue gun. I don’t use the same medium as you do as my main material, but I do use some foam. I use the glue gun as much as I can and make the globs fit into the terrain I make.
Thank you! Personally I find that each type of glue is useful for something. Hot glue works wonders if you need to glue a lot of things fast, super glue is best used for more precise work imo, and pva is for everything else basically
@@theterrainfactory I used appropriate glue for miniatures. I’m surprise how well PVA works on 3D printed tiles for sand and other little things. My go to when I don’t need precision is glue gun.
