I have an incredible pair of rattan chairs by Gilbert rhode for the Heywood Wakefield company. I’m pretty certain that these chairs other survivors from the 30s and that there are no more like these around, just fantastic pieces
What a beautiful chair. Believe it or not. I may have the same exact chair in my home. If I could post a photo I would. I may email a photo of my chair to Newel in New York. I don't think they would mind.
What year were these made? What maker commonly reproduced Hepplewhite, do you know? I believe I have a set of 4 from +/- 1790? I was told this from an antique buyer.
Jacobean... the 3rd phase, the “Carolean phase” id guess made in England. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 1830ish (betting that the joinery is pegged mortise and tenon (impressive!) has the top been cut down to hide a break or just unusual for the wig piece? 😎 how’s my aim ?
