This was a great song, great sound, sung by four beautiful and talented ladies! Denise Williams d good version of this song in tbe 1980''s. It's too bad The Royalsttes only had two hits. It's also too bad there aren't any great songs like this and groups like this around anymore! Despite they are only lip syncing this song, they still sounded great and had a great style!😂❤
This version is more dynamic than D. Williams, which is also beautiful, and longer, however, this version, especially the instrumental segment and background harmony is hauntingly beautiful. Thanks for posting!
What a wonderful piece of work. brilliant gift to all fans a clear labour of love something about the strings in the middle made me feel quite emotional. Thank you. x
Magnificent piece of engineering and all without AI! To accurately match Ronnie's vocal to the track must have been painstaking, then overdubbing selected sections of the wall of sound in the right places - plus a beautiful added string break - is an amazing piece of work and clearly a labour of love. Congratulations! 😀
Oh, my goodness, yes! Fantastic. Also, how about that stage presence? Dennis and Carl's arms crossed at their chests and Brian's folded over his waist. At least Mike spiced things up with a foot movement or two.
This song was supposed to be recorded by Little Anthony and The Imperials and when you hear the lead singer's voice it makes it pretty obvious WHO she was "doing", vocally speaking...
I still ask myself: what the hell is the reason to label "IKE"? What is / was hi's part for success? Ther is this big / enormous volume of sound and the voice of Tina Turner! And,..... what a sound, what a voice,....what a tallent!
he was a nutter and total control freak...it took unbelievable courage for tina to eventually break free ...keep in mind the total dispair she was experiencing and the terror she must have felt when making this decision ..must have felt like jumping off a cliff
Ike's part in her success? Not much for this song, which was a hit in UK but very disappointingly flopped in US. That was down to producer, Phil Spector and his co-writers, Jeff Barry and Ellie Greenwich. I think Phil sidelined Ike for the recording. But generally, Ike had been an established recording bandleader years before he established the partnership with young Tina. In those days the band leader had been the star and boss - think of Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, etc... Ike wrote some of the songs, produced some of the records, led the band, arranged the music, produced their shows, and was in charge of management. So sure, Tina was the star but he was not just a passenger. I think in those days, Tina regarded her job as singing and dancing and Ike was in charge of the rest. They had been a successful act for over a decade and a half before she left. It was a few years before she established her successful solo career. So, tyrant sure but not a parasite.
Ike played a major part in the creation of rock and roll. I'm not trying to sound like an Ike fan but if you do some research on him you'll see how he played a major part in Anna Mae's success.
🤣🤣to see Ike in the promo! Cause when Spector produced the single, the one decent thing he did was order Ike to sit on his hands & keep his mouth shut... I guess so that HE could have a turn and abuse TT? He forced her to a point that would have destroyed a weaker voice, for a song with shamelessly twee lyrics (even for a Spector song), but OMG this is one of the all-time greatest pop songs ever.
The lovely pp arnold in the middle of the backing singers ,,she was in concert in my town last year 2023 ,,and she's still got that lovely smile ☺, what a trooper ,Tina is sadly missed ,and who wants to look at ike 😮
