Wow. I remember Skennars Coaches coming down the hill into Hastings Street, Noosa in the late 70's and you could hear the engine braking all the way down. Their distinctive sound, signwriting and uranium yellow wheels. Also at First Avenue, Maroochydore at the bus depot there. No problems with your surfboard and camping gear heading up to Noosa national park when the surf was up.
no way did you finally ride on s5084 ? thanks i will keep an eye out for w5066. however i mostly catch the 66 and thats not w coverage. btw b8rle retarder sounds are amazing
@@angelineang5089 no it’s definitely not a voith. from the top of my head the only voith ones are 5009 - 5029 i’m pretty sure. everything else is zf. 5084, 5066 are definitely zf
Ridden this exact bus in person, G5151, Mic dosent do it justice really Pattern i note: any W5060 bus and below the zf is really quiet and all the S buses are really loud. even judging in chronological order the code should mean the W is louder, and the 'older' W buses are really quiet, someone explain?
I drive that bus. 2801, 2802 especially don’t drive as well as later buses. Ergonomically not great either as the later buses have destination controller keypad and screen for destination grouped together. Obviously whichever “University Graduate” designs the control interfaces in our buses never has to use them out in the real world.
It’s the zf ecomat gearbox, older buses + gearboxes will have them louder other vids ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HDiN7gjS8yA.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FHW-fR8EcAc.htmlsi=2canPPQP6BrTSj0P
I love this bus engine sound! Too bad TFL never bought buses like these. I would love to see them in TFL pre-2023 Stagecoach spec as well as pre-2023 Go-Ahead, pre-2015 Abellio, Metroline, RATP and Arriva.
Heya, got some specs for you via Scania Multi for these units Engine: Scania DC9 02 B01 260HP 9-litre 6-cylinder rear-mounted turbo diesel Gearbox: 5-speed ZF 5HP592C-N automatic Built in 2003
@@markhirst25 Most L94 tags I'm aware of are 300HP, with the K310UB tags being 310HP. Of course, operators could specify which ratings they wanted based on what was available
Just me or does the motor sound quieter then Hornibrooks? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-L9EFk1ZnD88.html Also, does it have rear door beepers?
The luggage rack is actually pretty useful when they run on long distance routes such as Gold Coast Line replacement, as many of the passengers are carrying luggages
Saw this going around today! Didn’t manage to ride it, but I did get a small ride on a Thompsons one which was nice. Will really miss these O405’s when they go, such an iconic Australian bus model
