Hi Shaun, love your videos, I think you might be able to answer a question I have….. I’m traveling from the UK to Spain in a couple of weeks and want to take my mini 4 pro with me. Can I just take it and fly it? Or do I need to do anything else? Thanks
It takes a really really long time for some updates to install. Many issues are caused by turning off the RC 2 before the unit has fully installed . If the "circle of dots" is still revolving on screen leave well alone and walk away for 20 minutes or more and await for install to finish. simples.
Does the factory reset restore the original firmware version or maintain the lastest update that was installed? Saying that, would it be possible to choose to install a less recent firmware version? I've been cautious of updating my Mini 4 which is performing perfectly for 5 months given the issue's you've been having of late.
Good question Paul, all it will do is remove your account and remove the latest software. I’ve not done it myself but you can install a later version by going onto the DJI Download. Personally, if you’ve had no problems - just leave it. Some of these updates are to do are to do with other drones or controllers. I will be making a video soon about “Do you really need to update”. One recipe to avoid such dusasters is to NOT immediately go for updates from DJI. If You have a nicely flying drone, skip the updates and fly unless a new interesting function is introduced.
When selling you drone, you will need to remove your account from the drone or it wont fly, also what happened to me, the RC2 locked up after an update - hopefully you will find this video useful 👍
I’ve never tried head tracking. And I don’t fly the Avata enough to move beyond normal flying. Great demo, I do want to give it a go someday. Thanks for sharing Shaun.
Well I never. I just got my drone and use it primarily for instagram. I never even knew it had a vertical mode, and have been cropping shots on capcut. Looks like I will have to revisit everywhere I have been the last month and reshoot everything 🤣
pretty sure the mom at the end comes from Quebec (my country and also french is my native language) interesting video and I do prefer the maven app it seems smoother
You're doing a great job, keep it up. Im an old bloke too and have just got into this drone thing and so far I'm loving it. It's got me popular with the family checking spouting and stuff for them but that's ok any excuse to get it out is a good excuse to me 🚁👍

I have a dji mini 4 pro rc-2 controller. using coorinates can I go from my take off spot (point A )to another coorinates (Point B) have it land at point B and RTH Point A? If so How?
Hey is there any need to get a dji cellular 4g dongle 2 for a mini 4 pro to improve its transmission range as it will anyways have to return to home after half of its battery is spent though its transmission is more.
Good question, not got one yet but hopefully in the next couple of weeks and see if it’s any good. I’ve seen some reviews, some saying it’s amazing and others not happy, I think its more to do with the 4G in the area of flying - hopefully Spain is okay 👍
I rarely change controllers because of all those binding notifications and warning you always get when attempting this. Nice tutorial on how to change the bound device. And thanks for sharing.
Great that you mentioned the drone that made RU-vidrs sing with delight at the sight of it. Now many people don't remember that the little DJI Spark is cool and has an obstacle avoidance feature. DJI sells batteries for Spark :)
I had a 512gb Teamgroup sd that as soon as I took it out and trash canned it, replaced with a Samsung or SanDisk U3 A2, frozen screen while screen recording stopped being a issue.
Good morning Shaun, don’t know if anyone has had this problem, since I updated to 1.13.9.My return to home is set at 150 feet,when i set a course away from my home point and descend the drone to a lower height then select return to home the drone does not ascend to the selected return to home height of 150 feet. Any advice would be welcome Shaun.
Maybe I'm being picky but when you started the compass calibration, it displayed a diagram showing that you're supposed to rotate the drone about its vertical axis, but what you did was revolve the drone around YOU while YOU were rotating about your own vertical axis. Not strictly the same thing. Does it make a difference? I don't know. But it looks and feels different to me.
I think the N64 was to strong for this lighting, you probably should have went with the ND32. And ND filters make even more sense for FPV drones that camera drones, because most of use tend to get closer to things with FPV drones, so you're actually going to see some motion blur.
