When I went to turn key for it to lock in it kept spinning , someone broke into my truck and all they did was damage this part. Struggled to open door that was stuck shut for this not lock in place. For $129 dealer price not ideal for me but your vid helped will go tomorrow see if they can swap part out

Strattec 7024124 GM Ignition Lock..2016 sierra bought new,135k,pulled into rest stop,got back in,key would not start to go in.F'd with it,finally took oil from dipstick onto key,got it to go in,giggled until it turned.Giggling would get it to turn ordered part next day.No warning fail.How about you,quick fail? miles?

Very helpful! Had an issue with a 2016 GMC Sierra, I was taking the ignition tumbler out to replace the ignition switch and didn’t realize the front most shaft got stuck in there. Used your video to figure out how to put the locking tabs in with the spring. Thank you for detailed video!!

How do you remove the cylinder from the ignition Lock Housing if the key will not turn?

Great video as I am in the process of replacing one, and I got stuck with missing the step with the retainer. Hopefully I can try this again tomorrow and get this vehicle on the road again.

American key supply sells me some keys with their logo and they were Chinese, that's why we are asking
