I am just getting into book binding and your videos are very helpful! I was wondering how you decided that there should be 3 mm between the spine and each cover board. I’ve seen a bunch of different tutorials and each one does a different distance.

Thank you so much for sharing this. Some books in a series I love don’t come in hardback and it aesthetically drives me nuts.

some of the books i love do not have hard cover versions so this is helpful for protecting my books because i know that paperback books are too easily damaged even if i look at them wrong 😅

I just had to say, your video is so much easier to follow compared to others online. You really really sound like Madam Delacroix in Bridgerton if anyone watched the series!! It makes the experience 100x better 😭😭😭 can you also make a video about how to add gold foil on the hardcover without the laser printer I don’t have one and I was looking for more options for that.

I can really recommend taking a few bricks and wrapping them, if you need some cheap weights. We had some behind the garden shed left over.

Hairspray has acid in it so that means it will slowly break down the paper over the decades. I find that if you water down PVA glue and use it for your first layer that it is easier. Still new to the technique so you may want to experiment.

I used photo paper which is much more difficult 😭 Didn’t turn out exactly right but I think its pretty close! If I just try a few more times I bet I can get it down.

This tutorial validates my artsy skills to be applied to bookbinding. Also, I'm glad you highlighted the 'imperfections' and that there are always solutions for them instead of just repeating back to the first step. Thank you so much!

Im not sure I understand the part with the printed flowers on the transparent foil (I understood the golden part though)…I just don’t get how you print on the transfer foil Please help meeee
@extracozydiy
@extracozydiy 2 месяца назад
It is a transfer paper for light fabric I found in a dollar store near me. you can print on it with a regular inkjet pinter and transfer it to your fabric with an iron. Normally it is mostly for t-shirts or so but i used it for my book.
