They were most likely all dead by the time it beached itself. Scurvy. Otherwise, they would have stopped sooner somewhere to get water and food. Nobody would have chosen such a desolate place with no chance of survival.
Hey John great job we really enjoyed our trip! Definitely a bucket list trip. Thanks for putting this great video together so we can look back and enjoy.
I wonder why they even wasted their time by building all these silly little pillars and pyramids? They probably didn’t have WiFi or good cell service out in the desert 🤔
It’s so overwhelming to try to show the magnificence of these monuments and their history in 5 min of slides and single line captions. It seems woefully inadequate. Going to do the next one in iMovie to have more options. But they can’t be too long. That’s a challenge.
Would love to search for artifacts - it is said that on my family’s property there are artifacts in the mountains in a community not far from Santiago. I will go one day to dig and see
I guess as the lake started drying up the giants food supply diminished and they resorted to cannibalizing the Paiute. Who were living in the caves? The ancient Paiute or giants? Interesting story.
My dad flew the Corsairs in WWII in the South Pacific. VFM 314. He loved flying. Did not talk about war much. But talk about flying. Now, I am sorry I did not listen more
Fabulous! My favorite site in Yucatan. Can you still walk down the staircase to see the tomb? When I was there in the early 70s the lights went out just when we got to the bottom. A guard had to escort us out with a flashlight. There was very little tourism in those days.
Cool video! My dad was a crew chief on -4s in the Marines '47-'49 at MAS Cherry Point,North Carolina in VMF-222.He was very proud of that, and I am proud to be his son.Miss you dad! Thanks for this!
