"Thank you Thor for your lectures and valuable insights. I passed the CISM exam today." Amit, 5-stars "I passed the CISSP with the ISC Book and Thor's lectures and practice questions." Warren, 5-stars "I studied for the CC with this course and passed. I absolutely recommend it." Lezly, 5-stars
I took the exam, Thor, but unfortunately, I didn't pass. I'm currently preparing for a second attempt. Believe me, this is the first time I've heard about the idea of answering 10-20 questions correctly to impact the overall exam curve, for that Thank you!
Hey Thor, thank you for the info. Should I buy a 10th edition Official guide instead of 9th edition? As I'm appearing the revised test format in 2024, I want to ensure the right book is used.
I failed today. I appreciate this video. Back to the drawing board. I was below on 3 domains. It sucks when you think you know something but the reality is you don’t know squat. I shall try again. 💪🏾
Glad to hear it helped. Failing is giving up, not passing a difficult exam is just a bump on the road, you now know how to prepare better for next time.
9th is the 2021 version (current), the exam updates April 15 2024, there is normally a 4-8 months lag on books after a CISSP curriculum update, so I would expect the 10th edition to be out somewhere in the fall/winter 2024.
Thor. I have been watching your videos at our training supplier from work for about a year now.. thank you for your material. I must say your inflection and diction makes me think you are a disembodied AI voice but i love your content. please keep it coming. I sit for my CISSP on January 29th and needed this video. have a great day .
one question. I've been a SOC analyst for about four years for an MSP (and prior to that, at the same MSP I was Service Desk analyst and my role included security related duties). My MSP (or at least the brass on the security team which I'm a part of), only has a history of Microsoft Certifications, so when I brought up my interest in getting the CISSP and who would I need to speak to get an endorsement, they didn't seem to know. So nobody on staff has an CISSP or could provide the endorsement required for the certification. How difficult (or how easy) is it to get the endorsement directly from ISC2 if I pass the test? Is it an easy process? Or, what is that process like, any hurdles, difficult to get? Thank you.
The process is the same, you fill out the same endorsement form, but instead of a CISSP as reference you add a manager or director. There is a slightly higher chance at an audit, it may take a little longer, but that is about it. Most new CISSPs are in the same boat as you, this is very normal.
That depends, you should be 80%+ on Easy/Mid questions, hard questions (mine, SNT, Boson) it is OK to be lower. Hard questions are more for learning to logic your way through complex scenarios, fine tuning your question deconstruction, and finding the small logic and knowledge gaps. I have students who never go above 65% on my hard questions and still pass the exam.
Thanks Thor, I'm recently starting my CISSP studies, and I don't think gonna make it by April 2024. Do you think the questions format changes a lot? How was the experience with the new exam back in 2021?
82 seconds per question for a maximum of 175 questions versus 72 seconds per question for a max. of 150 questions (starting April 2024). It seems you can allocate more time and think it through before answering, which may make it easier to pass. But again, there are still so many beta questions.
As mentioned, could we eat, drink during breaks? How come? I thought Pearson would take out all your stuff. Sorry for such redundant question though :D
Soo ... you leave all drinks/food in the locker you put everything else in when you get to the testing center. But ... you can leave the exam room (biometrics again), go get food/drink, eat/drink, then bo back to testing room (biometrics again).
I mean, ISC2 does not think so, if it was they would not have added 25 more. I assume it is to get a larger question pool, to make cheating harder. That is really what they are used for, to see how they perform so they 'may' at a later point be used as exam questions.

I've started taking your CISM course from udemy platform, I think I understand how you're explaining the material. I appreciate your work. The only thing I have to question before devoting my entire effort to learning CISM's concepts and methodology. Did you update all of your course materials and slides to reflect the new course in June 2022? If we simply rely on your videos and notes on udemy, will we still be able to pass the exam?
For a complex exam like the CISM I would never just rely on a single resource. I suggest a good CISM book as well (AIO or official), and definitely the CISM QAE questions from ISACA.
@@thorteaches Thank you for your suggestions Thor. I am on lecture 19 of domain 1 of your CISM course_ udemy. I have noticed your presentation slides there are different from the pdf which I have downloaded. Sometimes the whole topic is missing. you mentioned elephant is important but in your presentation when that symbol came your pdf did not reflect the same. bit confused about which one is the latest in lieu of 2022 update? your presentation slides or the pdf which we have downloaded from domain 1
