Rock In The 904 is primarily a channel in which I share footage of live performances, artist interviews, and albums that relate to the 904 / 352 area codes (Northeast Florida Region). I grew up on the westside of the 904 (Jacksonville) and have many albums of multiple genres that are rare or out of print from artists that I grew up listening to, going to see their shows, or performing concerts with them. I don't own the rights to their music or their likeness and will remove anything per their request, or if RU-vid just decides to be a bitch and take it down on their own; like they've done so many times.
You'll see and hear Southern Rock, Metal, Punk, Country, Reggae, and anything else on this channel. You may even see a random military video, or cat/dog vid! Enjoy!
I graduated Highschool in 1977 and as I was listening to the radio I heard the news about the plane going down and I followed the story as it progressed. Billy Powell ended up being the spokesperson and was giving all the details and info. I had all of their albums and will always be a fan. I want Freebird played at my funeral.
They couldn't have picked a better singer with Dale never got to see Joplin she was the closest thing to it singer arrested in college band twice in Florida she was an amazing singer intercourse one of the baddest rock bands in history
This show was great in theaters, but it didn’t work in bigger venues. What’s a shame about this video is that they edited the first half of Shaw’s solo on Cold War (the entire rap section appears to have been added in post production)…I guess it’d also be nice if they’d played the entire New Orleans show-ideally the last show of the run, which I believe was the sunday show, because it had an extra song.
They were huge in Gville in the great 90’s. I used to play the same joints Gatormiesters, Purple Porpoise, Rickenbackers, Al’s Deli (on the roof at halftime) student ghetto,Florida Theater Gville was poppin then🔥
I was at this show and absolutely hated them. It was my first time seeing Rush,so yea. I remember the drummer playing a trash Mapex and his cymbals over tighten. A month later I bought their first album and they became one of my biggest influences ever. I seen them at Shades years later and they still killed it🔥 This was a cool flashback thank ya🤘🏻
Holy shiz man. Thanks for postinf this! Ive looked for this album for a long time. I saw these dudes at the Lions Club and the singer had a milk jug emptied out filled with wine. I was 14 and thought that was the punkest shit id ever seen. I took the cd to have it "profesionally" refinished/repaired 3 times and the 3rd time they lost it. I was so pissed. They said theyd replace it and then called and said they couldn't find a replacement (obviously)
I can’t believe I didn’t listen to or catch these cats while they were with us 🤷♂️, I just can’t believe it , love these guys and the band before them, you know who I mean LS, I listened too a different kind of rock and roll back then, I messed up 😫, this is the real thing ❤
I still remember the day I heard of the accident. I was in Japan in the Marine corps when my best friend at the time told me. What a terrible loss. Thanks for sharing.
It is worse than irresponsible for the adult people who could've banned the group from being allowed to use that plane. We would still have our one&only Ronnie Van Zant. Two of my favorite stories are how they came up with their band name&how sweet home Alabama came to be!
As much as I love Steve Perry I would love to see him back in the band he just can't hit the high notes anymore and Arnell is right on point but something intimate maybe unplugged would be nice to see him singing at a lower octave
Born For Adventure.. Now that's a deep classic rocker !!! J.Y. seems to enjoy the harder guitar side of Styx Love them !Going this summer 2024 to see them in Indy ..
Saw the open for Rush on the hold your fire tour at the Spectrum in Philly! Sadly the spectrum is gone now! Then I saw them with Pat benetar and Spider in State college Pa! Great shows!
I saw them at Anaheim Stadium about 6 weeks before the crash - they headlined with REO Speed Wagon, Foreigner, and Ted Nugent. Skynyrd just smoked and blew everyone away, especially with the new songs off Street Survivors like That Smell. The album hadn’t even been released yet. I was 16 years old and they were the second concert I attended. I feel so bad for people who never got to see them, and of course for their families who felt the ultimate loss.
