this song just brought a tear to my eye, thinking of how much of a good mood Chunking express puts me in. Thanks and shout out to Quentin Tarantino for recommending Chungking express in a interview.
every time i hear these horns in Chunking express it puts a huge smile on my face , because of how repetitive this song is in that movie. i only watched it this year for the first time and i saw it almost 10 times now. i never been this addicted to a movie. the only movie that comes close is The Dark Knight

Riding in the 192 back home from work with Joseph Hill and Culture blasting in my ears, this monday 30th day of September 2024. This is one of my beloved songs of all times. I have been listening to Culture since i was 13 years old going to primary school in Ghana . The song tells the story of Jamaican national heroes George William Gordon and Paul Bogle. William Gordon was a Justice of the Peace at Morant Bay. A Justice of the Peace was a type of judge in the 19th Century. Joseph Hill tells us, one year after the abolition of slavery in Jamaica, there was a smallpox epidemic and Justice of the Peace William Gordon sent messengers abroad to bring to Jamaica doctors and nurses to attend to those suffering from the epidemic. This angered the British colonial masters and they set a trap for William Gordon. They arrested him. Gave him an extra-judicial administrative trial, speedily convicted him and hanged him on a tree. With his eyeglasses still on. Because he did such a good Gordon was murdered by the colonial masters. Jamaican national hero Paul Bogle walked from Spanish Town to Stone Nigger. But when he reached Spanish Town to complain about the horrible treatment of Black people in Jamaica, the colonial masters refused to hear what he had to say. Nine men and himself making ten. Because the colonial masters refused to listen to what Bogle and his colleagues had to say, Bogle said "if they are not going to hear us then come on, let us form our own government" The colonial authorities considered this as an incitement to rebellion. Paul Bogle was arrested and falsely accuses. He was also speedily tried, convicted and hanged. This should remind us all of the great struggles for Black emancipation and liberation. From the Carribean across to Africa, to South and North America, our forefathers heroes like Marcus Garvey Paul Bogle, George William Gordon, Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, Kwame Nkrumah, Nelson Mandela, Canal Abdul Nasser, Haile Sellassie, Amilcar Cabral, Walter Rodney and others laid down their lives and paid the ultimate sacrifices that has led to the freedoms enjoyed by black people today. We thank Mother Earth for our heroes and their sacrifices and the solemn examples they left us
