The group running Elsecar Heritage Railway had to shut down during the pandemic they had to hand the lease back to Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council.
I look at this (sad) video and keep wondering what a difference a team of committed volunteers could make to the look of the place. I would be assuming they will have legal access to the area. What we are seeing in this video is "ditto for Canada" where I live.
I could well imagine it’s a labour council and they have no interest whatsoever with our history, that land will soon be sold and cheap houses built on it for immigrants
Didn't they get a massive hike in the rent on the site? Just wondering why they closed. But why has 'Elizabeth' and the 'Toad' brakevan not been retrieved? A pity about the rail-gap or you could have gone 'weed-bashing' with Lizzie!
It breaks my heart to see Masbrough station these days. (Masbrough being the correct spelling of the district, first misspelled in the name of the station as ‘Masborough and Rotherham’ by the Midland Railway in 1896 and then misspelled again in 1908 by the Midland Railway as Rotherham (Masborough) and finally by BR in 1987). Network Rail and the railway industry STILL misspell Masbrough as Masborough… and it’s VERY ANNOYING… 😡 Thanks for the video though! 😀
Great effort !! But your choice of location is not the ideal one. Any steam lover likes to listen the sound of the engine and following coaches sound. I hope you got it. Thanks for sharing.

What I am seeing is 2 Class 43s Top N Tailed with 3 coaches between, rather than a Voyager; and the numbers were clearly identified. However, thank you for the comment - it pays to keeep me on my toes. Thanks for watching.
@@tonygibbs136 I agree with the other comment these are not HST power cars , HST power cars don't have passenger windows where the engine is but nice footage anyway.
