Hi! I’m Maggie, a 40-something on a mission to live an authentic, joyful, and meaningful life. After overcoming some big challenges, I’m here to share what I’ve learned and to inspire you on your own journey, no matter your age.
I’ll be sharing everything I discover about productivity, self-mastery, spirituality, healing, and more-basically, all the things that make life exciting! Plus, I’m tracking my progress toward RU-vid monetization and sharing insights along the way.
I found if you have RU-vid studios on your phone I was like you always check in the analytics and I removed the app, so I have to actually go on my laptop in order to check and that’s made me not so attached. Maybe that could help for you too?
Hey Maggie! Congratulations on these small successes! I've been following you from the beginning, and I want to say I am quite impressed with the things you don't speak on. That is your grasping the platform, and working to improve your videos. You have learned a ton already and it shows. You understood the importance of Sound, and you are thinking of the visuals! You have put effort into Branding and all the while being genuine! I appreciate it. Have a great holiday! PS. I caught a glimpse of a "Roo" so hopefully that will show up in some future B roll :)
Thank you for sharing your story-it is inspiring. I've been coaching for 20 years, and the last three have been my burnout and burndown years. I'm now re-blooming, and I'm grateful for the creative outlet that is RU-vid.
Hi Allison, "re-blooming"!!! I love it! What a gorgeous expression. 20 years of coaching is remarkable!! You were doing it before it became super popular. I look forward to having that much experience one day. 💚
Thanks for watching! What’s something you’ve always wanted to do but felt held back by fear or the idea of waiting until ‘retirement’? I’d love to hear your thoughts 😃
When I feel purposeful, it's so much easier to get up in the morning. I enjoyed the conversation around burn out. I've experienced that before. Thanks for the video!
@@Margot-u7y Thank you Margot. Burn out is no joke. I hope you recovered well. I agree about it being easier to get up in the morning when you're driven by purpose. So wonderful.Thank you for watching.
I completely agree - and my job is physically demanding on my back and neck too...I follow up this video with another one that clarifies a few more things - I just released it today. It's really more about having purpose until the end, rather than actually working the 9-5. Thanks for your comment. :-)
Likelihood of death looks pretty linear while working until age 65. The relationship of years worked after 65 to likelihood of death looks pretty exponential... Maybe there are some confounding variables (such as being forced to work vs choosing to). It's still something to consider...
Stop being a lame moron. THE ONLY contentment in life is freedom from the incessant thoughts (good/bad/and indifferent). That's not possible for the most part. Cheer lead yourself all you want. Can't erase TRUTH.
I became a dementia carer in my late 50's after a career in teaching - I love love love it and will continue for as long as my body is able. I do strength training every day so that I can help people move safely. Win win.
That's so fantastic! So wonderful that you love being a dementia carer. They are so vulnerable - and so lucky they get to have you looking after them. Very smart about the strength training..gee it makes a difference doesn't it. I was really into it but fell off the wagon late last year. I'm going to get back on it before Christmas. Thanks for watching 🙂
I believe your mindset makes a huge difference to your health and vitality. I think traditional "retirement" where people do very little is the path to a much faster decline. Why not live life to the full until your last breath! I totally agree with what you said.
I like the goals! I am just starting too, but I am a little older (57). Maybe we can support each other through this journey. My niche is different but we have similar goals regarding making videos. Keep on keeping on!!!
Hi Maggie, it's great to see you doing so well on here and I'm glad you found your way around the chapters :) There's so much to learn when you first start! I'm just as bad with checking analytics although my growth is much slower - it can be addictive and we need to be strict with ourselves 😂
Hi Monique...thank you so much and I really appreciate your advice - I didn't have time to put the time stamps on this one but will go back and do it later. There is so much to learn, isn't there?! Life is definitely more fun with youtube though 🙂
@@Maggieloveslife, it was a glorious experiment with failure but practice. Most of it wasn't recording, but I kept some of what I did record for B roll and got practice with my gimble mount. Will try again. I'm not sure why I'm getting so in my head so may do a real time parts practice video about overthinking all this!
@@AllisonCrow That's a brilliant idea - the video about overthinking it. It's tricky for me too but I find the more I practice the longer I can talk without needing to edit all the "lost my train of thought" moments. Of course the best is when your in flow and it pours out - but they are the magic moments, not every day. 🙂
I am enjoying your journey. I started about a month before you and am watching how things go. I am an older woman starting to ride a motorbike. Last week, things picked up!
Hello! Thank you for your comments! I really appreciate it! I've subscribed to your channel as well...looks like you are having heaps of fun! Very fun videos..you're braver than me with the motorbike! ha!
@@Maggieloveslife Aw, thank you! I look forward to your videos and am excited to have come across your videos when you are just starting. It will be fun to see your journey!
This is awesome! I am a small RU-vid channel and this journey has already been so satisfying. I am learning more about myself and how to be more confident also while making content. Will be following your journey for inspiration!
I just heard you say you wanted to figure out time stamps - I've been using a tool called descript to help with editing and timestamps and transcriptions.
@@morgan-mackenzie the editing tool is also helpful for me to remove my UMS --via text. After it generates the transcript you can just "cut" out things you want to edit out, or use the AI "remove filler language" tool. It can also find "clips" from longer-form content for shorts. :)
@@AllisonCrow woo!! Thats awesome!! That can save me so much time editing 😅 im an engineer full time and work long hours some days. Need to find tools to help me work a bit quicker :) thank you!
this was helpful to hear about some of your process. are you thinking though all of this alone or are you in a community or class? thanks for sharing your process.
Thank you Allison. I have a community/group that I have been studying with for 6 years or so. So it's been a journey. The whole Socrates "an unexamined life is not worth living" is at the forefront of my mind. Thank you for watching 🧡 PS I've just subscribed to your channel...we are so aligned!!! I can't wait to watch your content!
Such an important message. I think women in particular often feel they don't have a voice and are worried about the outcome of saying what they want/need. Thank you! x
Just wanted to save you from someone rude on here, it’s actually spelled Monitization with a “Z” on your thumbnail, u might want to change it😊 good luck on your journey ❤❤❤
Hi there, thank you for that. I appreciate you letting me know kindly. I'm Australian and we use UK English which spells it with an 's'. I know the American way is with a 'z' and I have ummmed and ahhhed over which way I should go. Perhaps the US way is the way to go as it is a much bigger audience. Thanks again and good luck as well! 😃
I want to help those who want to start a pet business, I’ve 11 years experience in the industry and really want to share my knowledge. At the same time build a business around this to have more financial freedom to provide my Son with a better life.
@@Maggieloveslife thank you! I sure hope so, I know RU-vid is a slow grind but almost two months in and only 15 subscribers I wondering what I am doing wrong 🤣
@@chelsiegrieve Have you heard of @AlexaSaarenoja ? I found her a couple of months ago..she's fantastic for new youtubers and she does 1 on 1 consults for really affordable prices. Last I saw (a week or so ago) it was still under $100 for a consultation. When I catch a breath I thought I'd have a session with her. Check out her channel in the meantime and see what you think 🙂
I love your transparency about your process and getting glimpses into the things you are finding important! I love the leaving the mini bloopers also. Tip- Glad you have your storage figured out, but start thinking about having a secondary backup drive. Backup Everything always! Best to ya and will keep watching!
Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment. And THANK YOU about the secondary back up drive. I'll get onto that this week. Best to you too! 😄
Hi Maggie, great video and it's fabulous to see you doing so well with your channel - you deserve it with all the hard work you're putting in! To do timestamps/chapters (by the way I keep forgetting to do mine!), all you need to do is put a list like this in the description: 00:00 Intro 00:55 Whatever the next bit is 01:40 Whatever the next bit is 03:56 Whatever the next bit is ...and you can get the timings from your video by watching it after upload. I hope this helps :) x
