Bumbleby and Whiterose together wouldn’t be fair to half the fan base who root for White knight, Lancaster or Rosegarden. The honest truth. I don’t mind Bumbleby cause you can see the build up from volume 6-8. But white rose? No build up. Just sisters there for each other. Just like Penny and Ruby. But the other ships? Plenty of examples of build up of some kind. Whether big or small. A story must make sense people.
This is the first time I'm seeing this scene, and I'm a couple volumes behind so I don't have a full context, but anyone else notice that Ruby's moves at the start of the fight were VERY similar to the order of moves from the RWBY Red trailer? You might be able to boil it down to "that's just how she fights" but to me it seems purposeful by the animators.
It's very purposeful. This entire volume is themed around finding a purpose and the animators used that to reimplement some of the old fighting styles. They didn't just do it for Ruby, but for the other three as well. Weiss has been using her rapier as an actual weapon instead of a wand, Yang has been using her semblance more often, and Blake has been taking advantage of her semblances agility again. It's still not the same and there's definitely more work to be done, but it's refreshing as hell to see the girls work as a single unit again while being able to hold their own in fights.
@@roombster That is awesome. I need to catch up, because the last episode I watched was when Yang and Blake fought Adam... Thank you for helping reinvigorate me to watching again.
@@ShirtlessDan I'm glad I could do that for you! Just a fair warning, there will still be times where you question your sanity over some writing decisions, but it's not nearly as bad as the Mistral arc. Things pick up a lot once they get to Atlas. The quality of the fights also get better, although some of them are less fluid in favor of the fights that are impactful to the story (much like this one, though V9 overall has some really good fight scenes as stated before.) Regardless, I hope it'll be a fun and worthwhile experience for you as it was for me! :)
"Your time is running out. You must choose. Choose for yourself one who can leave your burdens behind, or choose one who will be enough to bear them." "What happens if I choose... me?" "Then maybe, that girl is enough." wailing sobbing life altering
I haven’t watched since season 6 but it’s nice that the rwby team finally figured out (or hired people who figured out) how to animate more than one person blindly swinging a blade at a time
I haven’t watched RWBY since Neo was first reintroduced so this video made absolutely no sense to me. Why was she purr-sessed by the Cheshire cat? Why does Jaune look like an old man now? What happened to Salem and Cinder? I have so many questions. Guess I better go catch up on the seasons I’ve missed.
Oh well, here's hoping for a reboot. Preferably a reboot that sticks to the core setting pieces without all the extra introduced v3 and onwards. Elemental rocks, force fields plus one other superpower per person, animal-people, and evil shadow monsters. No maidens, no genies, no "magic".
I remember finding RWBY when I was in middle school and being so hype about it, I really did love it and seeing where it is now with the animation and fights scenes vs where it was is really satisfying
So this is how this 💩 show ends... With a whimper... Rooster butchered what it could have been and then ended up falling apart themselves. Shame to as I actually did like this shows idea and style at one point. Reminds me of Assassins Creed for games and Star Wars for cinema. Once great things that actually had some life and spark to it now reduced to a shell of its former self. As usual I have to blame the fanboys of this show for supporting its death spiral into mediocrity. They don’t care about quality story telling or actually consistent narrative and plot. As long as show has flashy fight moves, mediocre character exploration and nice music... it’s a “masterpiece” in their eyes. RIP Rwby... you’ll be missed by no one but diehard fanboys and the few people like me who could respect what you once had. Poor Monty...
Juane: "So Ruby? Did you find what you were looking for? Was it all worth it?" Ruby: "I guess." Weiss: "Seriously? You speak to God. And learn nothing?" Ruby: "Meh."
I'm at a point in my life where like ruby i have a choice be myself or be someone else and I've gotta find myself again thank you ruby for showing that being yourself is ok
