This is the local park where I -- almost -- learned how to ice skate. The Park was known by an extremely imaginative name: County Park. This was back in the day before BERGEN COUNTY got former president RICHARD NIXON as one of its more infamous residents and of course before BERGEN COUNTY became so God-darn wealthy. Of course it might have already been wealthy but most of the wealth was under people's mattresses. Don't quote me but even though back then Wallington was pretty damn boring for teenagers the town was overrun with taverns and little local bars, one on every street corner it seemed but apparently hanging at these taverns never hindered the growth of the so-called wealth factor because as the years passed more and more banks moved, creating a little competition for ownership of all of those corner locations. Ah, nothing like a fast sprint down Memory Lane!
