2016 Sahara, i came from the 120 Prado as well , and yes it’s my dream rig , love your setup , just started my mods ,the video was very helpful thanks. Daz
When I upgraded the Caravan to 240 amp from 120x, I put my space 120x in a GoFurther box, its super handy to take away when we are offgrid for a while or when we go to places without the caravan, I've ran starlink off it all weekend with a 200w panel plugged in to have a dedicated starlink setup.
Thoroughly enjoyed your update review. Your easy and clear to understand and very knowledgeable. I now will go back through your previous uploades. Subscribed thankyou.
I have the same issue going through the mesh. However, I found it's supported better if you put the side walls on first. Put them on one at a time on opposing sides instead of putting them on in a circle motion. Then put the mesh on top. The fencing wire though is a great idea which I may adopt for mine. 👍
Cheers for this vid mate. I currently drive a 120 and love her. The only car I've owned longer then 5years. Unfortunately im moving from Belgium to Slovenia and due to the rules here I cant get my car to pass the technical due to the mods. Therefor I will sell here but dont find another car to my taste as the prado hits th sweet spot between, luxury, comfort and off-road capability and its so reliable car. Looking now to go for a 200 as I need space for a 15y old kit,the wife and 2 dogs. We tour for 3 months per year, would love to make a test drive with a 200 but affraid for my wallet 😂 thanks again, good vid. Greetings from Slovenia
Thanks for your comment! The 120 series I think will always be a special car for many. The step up to a 200 series is so worth it though, if you can overcome the initial buy price. Fuel economy is better and parts aren't too much more expensive for maintenance. The luxury, comfort and power are big draw cards too!
Ill have to agree, Kaon products are a game changer. Yeah you might pay a bit more for them, but everything is very well designed, built to last and most importantly made in 🇦🇺👌
Have a 2019 200 series Sahara and bought in July 2023 to tow a caravan full time.October first injector blown and now up to 4 injectors gone today yet Toyota will replace one at a time under warranty and now it is out of warranty.Last one took 7 weeks to replace and after fixed came back worse shape in power.Had a tune so they pass the buck saying it was the software installed.Tune people after half hour found crack in intercooler plus rat had chewed on hose and wires yet they could not find or fix.Still waiting to get mechanical again
Ha ha 2/5 nice vid mate! I've got one of these and made a couple of supports out of small ally angle L pieces by notching out the ends and the middle so they lock together and form an X shape. Works a treat I also have a snow peak style foldable out which I use more because it's just quicker and easier and stronger
I have this pit, bought last year and lots of campers asking about it. Was able to have a good warm, containable and good fire on a cold night I haven't used it that much, so no deterioration yet
No I loosened the retaining clips on the loom as much as I could to get the extra length. I wasn't confident in adjusting the factory wiring so it wouldn't cause an issue. In hindsight, it would have been much easier to extend these wires by 100mm to make remove/refit much easier
Panhard is far better off being relocated. ie getting it back to level (or back to OEM) than just extending the link, which actually exacerbates the problem and negatively impacts handling. There are a couple of solutions out of the USA and I believe Kaon are looking into such a bracket. Check out the Kaon prado build to get a better understanding. Good choice in gear, its all good stuff!
Hi Todd, just wanted to say I'm also from WA and I really enjoy your videos, especially the 200 series build. Cheers for keeping it real! Not many blokes have your level of honesty and ability to reflect. As a dad of two who's been navigating some similar waters over the past few years, I can really connect with what you're sharing. I've found that once we figure out what truly matters, everything starts to click into place. Sometimes, it feels like the universe is nudging us to take a breather. When you're stuck in quicksand, best to stay calm and look for a hand rather than flailing about-you'll only sink deeper. Reckon drinking's a rough way to cope, too. Better to have a yarn with your GP/psychologist, and keep your mates and family close. Stay safe, brother, and take care.
those oil filter caps and metal tube should be thrown out and buy a new one as the pipe falls out then filter compacts and starves the engine it's highly recommended by diesel engineers
Hey mate, yeah it clears the spoiler with heaps of room. I make sure to setup the awning first then open the rear tailgate, and the awning arm sits well behind the spoiler. The 2nd arm of the awning does sit right above the rest of the tailgate though, so a bit of foam tape on the awning arm stops any rubbing. I could probably raise the awning up an extra notch on the brackets to help give more clearance but it barely touches and I prefer the awning as low as possible for myself haha
Kaon make great gear! I've even used their Prado 150 rear door table on my 90 series Prado back door and replaced the door card with a sheet of 3mm ally and it's a perfect fit! One of those mods that took about as long as I thought (instead of the factor of 5!) Your new tent . . . . Hmmmm . . . . It's gotta be something that will accommodate the newly setup awning but the new brackets will protrude up . . . . Hmmmm. . . . If it's a hard shell the awning would have to be attached to the side of the tent or the whole tent raised up to fit the new awning brackets which wouldn't be a good idea. I'm stumped . . . . Going to guess a bush company 🤪😅
A good man making it rewirable !! Ill be watching this when i get mine. I like your focus on reliability. Theres a reason toyotas go so long. However i got 11 psi. I swear thats all im doing..and that module...for power, the rest improving factory air flow, hoodscoop, exhaust wrap, remove spotties from directly in front of intake lol radiator and intercooler thermofans in next. New bolt on fuel pump and turbo would be nice...
Love your video,l agree with you best looking design ever,l started with a Hilux in the 80’s & am on my 4th Landcruiser now.l started with an 80 series then 2 x 100’s & now the 200 series.l’ve taken the 300 for a couple of test drives,l like the internal layout dash & driver position.lts getting good reviews with the V6 & 10 speed box but early days yet.Externally hate the look of the front end design the way the venting is situated, lights & daytime running light fine.Side profile the guards around the wheel arch ,looks like it’s been driven through a tight lane way & squashed all the guards flat. The rear, come on Toyota what were you thinking no split tail gate,& this is why l love my 200 series Great design & even Better Landcruiser.
