People should realize these units are not what we are lead to beleive, I have a CH 50 and can tell you with all honesty you will curse the day you got caught up in this thermal game, they'll tell you you can shoot out to 300+ which you can if your ok with 2 - 4 magnification anything higher and the image is crap, so in summary spend $4000 to shoot out to 100 and even than its hit or miss and it wont be you or your rifle. Yeh I'll get shot down for my comments but if you head down this road just remember this post.
This pitiful piece of corporate marketing propaganda tells me all I need to know about how pitifully this thing must perform. 😂 Thank you for saving me $$$.
Well, its slightly different when you see the real/life animal than just heated up cut-outs, but its really great and I can highly recommend, as I tested this in fields of Ireland and also Ardennes forests. Spot-on-job. Price to product ratio is very good and I can confirm it was a good purchase. There is only one thing I dont like about the design. Its too round in shape and if put on a flat surface it tends to roll, which is annoying when you are trying to focus on game and stuff. With newer models there will be no harm to make it more squarely or add sort of a horn shape to prevent this really annoying rolling situation. Apart from that minor issue the product is perfect.
I got an ATN scope was thinking of buying their thermal optical for the helmet. I'm going to try and find one if yours at a store first because the price is reasonable.
A completely useless video with annoyingly jangly music that does not inform in any way. It is a pity as this is actually a very good product but the video is only a puff piece
Hi! I can’t turn on the grid on the RICO RL 42. We don’t have this function in menu and don’t know how to turn on this. Can you help me with this, please?
Mate, a thermal can not see through glas and also cannot see light but rather heat. So if you want to look through a red dot with a thermal....all you will see is nothing or maybe you might see yourself as the glass from the redot will reflect your own heat signature. Hope that makes sense?
@@Carsgunsnfishin the CH50 or CH50 v2 are the best ones. If you can afford them. Otherwise the CL42. Give us a ring and we chat through your requirements
Great demonstration! I’m wondering how the CL42 would do on a trijicon 1-6x 24 LPVO? Would you recommend that set up ? Also, are happy with the CL42 as a occasional monocular? Thank you for any advice or information!
@@infirayoutdooraunz882 Thank you so much for the fast reply! There are so many options it’s overwhelming, lol. I really like what I see with the Iray images though!
Hi, unfortunately a base max of 6x is too high and you would not have any joy with the clipon or any other clipon on the market. You need a scope of 1 or 2x base mag to use the clipon to its full potential.
@@infirayoutdooraunz882 ok thanks, seems to defeat the purpose of having clip on, may as well buy a dedicated thermal scope, unless you can also get a clip-on day optic ;-)
@@petervanoosterom2794 yes mate, that's right. You will be better served with a dedicated thermal scope. I suggest to use quick release rings or rail for your day scope. That way you can easily swap the scopes around. The Rico series from us is pretty dang good. Have a look at the RH50 or RL42. Good luck and thanks for the question
How come the image is more or less the same or even worse in the ch50 if it's supposed to have 4 times more resolution and a bigger lens? I'm about buying one of these but this video makes me doubt.
Hi Alberto, the ch50 has a 640x resolution vs the cl42 of 380x. As a result you have a much higher detection range with the ch50 meaning you can zoom in more with your day scope while still having a less pixelated image. Unfortunately we didn't zoom in with the scope during the filming to show the vast difference. Also the cl42 is only usable to a mag of 6-7x whereas the ch50 can be used up to 12x zoom. In short, the ch50 is way superior than the cl42, so if you have the funds, it is worth it. Just ensure your base mag on your scope is preferably between 1.5x-2.5x so you get the most of your clipon. Hope this helped. Also, I think the ch50 footage is much better than the cl42. Focus on the grass and how detailed it is. Cheers
@@infirayoutdooraunz882 Thank you for the information, I think I will get the ch50, I just wished there would be more quality footage about it. Regards
Hi mate, our expectation would be that the next generation of clip-ons has all the bells and whistles including wifi and onboard recording. That said, no information has yet been released, so the comment is just our expectation to the R&D team 😉

Ultra clear? Ultra potentially dangerous. Being sold to inexperienced hunters who will use it in unfamiliar places without any idea who else might be in the firing line. And often be in a hurry because of operating illegally. High spec gear is dangerous enough, this low end sighting equipment is asking for problems
Hey John, very good point. The CTP13 should only be used under strict safety considerations. Identification of a target is extremely important. We only recommend the CTP13 to be used at extreme close ranges such as air rifle ranges for e.g. rat control in a barn etc. As you can see in the video, longer ranges will not allow for proper identification of targets.
Hi mate, you can find all the manuals here including the CH50 manual. The manual will tell you how to do it. if you have further questions, feel free to ask: infirayoutdoor.com.au/product-manuals/
Hi, no it doesnt have a range finder. As you are using your on scope's reticle, you would just hold over as you normally would do with your day scope. If you wanted to know the distance which is super difficult to do at night without visibility, we would suggest to buy a laser range finding thermal monocular such as the FH25R. infirayoutdoor.com.au/finder-series/ Hope this helps.
do these units have the ability save different zero points for each of the available reticules? eg 1 reticule zeroed @ 100m another at 300m and so forth?
Thanks for the question. You can save 3 different calibers/rifles and 3 different zeroing distances per calibre/rifle. You can select a bunch of different reticle designs, however, you can only select one design at a time as it will be used across all profiles. So you can't select a cross reticle for one calibre and a dot reticle for another. Hope that helps?
thanks for the quick response. Ref shipping, what is the expected shipping time to an address in rural NZ or rural Qld Australia? I ask this as I travel between these 2 locations.
@@escapeartist6546 Within Australia we ship the next day following your order. Everything is shipped express via Australia Post, so basically 2-3 days nation wide. Shipments to NZ take about 1-1.5 weeks currently. Within the next 4 weeks, we will open our local warehouse, bringing shipping times also down to 2-3 days nation wide.
Is the ultra clear mode also available at other models like the MH25? If not, will you release a firmware update to add it? (Like pulsar did with their devices)
There is no ultra clear mode in the MH25. But you can alter the sharpness and contrast of the MH25, please check the "Advanced Menu" section in the manual. drive.google.com/file/d/1SYGpk4xBfgUyBgMH8qaR3BLjInUlpaV1/view
That's a great pick up. We didn't realise that until now. It is a kangaroo most likely looking at the movement and knowing there area. The base mag is 2x of the device.
Hi Matty, preferably a 1-8x or a 2-10x. I would not suggest a base magnification of 3 or above as you might not be able to see the full menu. You can just make out the full menu at 2.5mag. Hope this helps.
The clip-on has a video out via a USB port that can be connected to an analog digital video recorder. This particular footage was taken with a camera mounted behind the scope in order to show you the scope reticle which would otherwise not be on the footage. Here is the scope and clip on footage next to each other: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QDOpOn5E3rk.html
