I'm trying so hard to like chinese music since I'm learning chinese but i couldn't. In my culture there is no influence of chinese culture so its very hard for me to emotionally relate to it whereas i can easy relate to turkish or persian culture due to their heavy influence on my country
Thanks for the reply, this was informative. But I may not have properly phrased myself: my question is why the chinese q and ch, and x and sh, sound similar in this video. From what I have been taught, they should sound a bit different and the positioning of the tongue is different, yet here q sound the same as ch, and x the same as sh. I was initially asking the question because I struggle making a different sounds for them (I am learning Mandarin), and was wondering if it's alright if I just mix the two together (also j and zh). I am aware that other dialects in China pronounce a lot of different letters the same way. But apparently learning Mandarin officially is learning the Beijing dialect, and I was also wondering if he sang the song in that dialect, so that it's okay to mix between the two. I may come off as being a bit too picky, but I wanna do this right. @MaxineWashington
