"Pirate's Cove is one of only two remaining attractions of it's kind. Bill Tracy was a designer of walk through funhouses, usually utilizing his favorite theme of Pirates and Damsels in distress. The "Pirates Cove" at Waldameer Park is one of three of Mr. Tracy’s walk throughs left operating in this country. It is the sister attraction of the "Pirates Cove" located in Ocean City, MD at Trimpers Amusement Park"
Just left kings dominion and got stuck at the station on this ride.. It was 95+ degrees and we weren’t under the little hood they had for the station. It took 20 mins for maintenance to even get to the ride and another 20 for they to fix it, crazy…. Nonetheless great coaster!
I went on this ride, this was my first roller coster and i was screaming during the drops and i was holding my hands up, the next time it even WILEDER with high roller, on high roller i was just screaming and saying I CANT DO IT I CANT DO IT while mommy was just laughing at me
Did u manage to get an exclusive ride? I'm trying to sample this ride for a song I'm producing since it's a coaster that's in my hometown amusement park and some of the audio of the sounds and dialogue that play throughout the ride sound really good at points!
It’s hard to see with the lighting, what was the second “shootout” scene? Was it just more audio on top of the same hanging scene it had later on or was the scene different altogether?
this was my favorite ride as a kid. i went back last saturday with some friends and i rode it. was sad to see they replaced it with the disappointing "Spee-lunkers". wanted a nostalgia trip but got an acid trip
I so wish they had the full video without the "boring" parts cut out! Would love to see how the lane-changing setup at the top of the drop worked, and scope out details of the park "as it was then" during other parts of the ride. I rode this a few times but probably about 20 years ago so I don't remember all the details very well!
I agree, I want the whole ride sound and all. I only went on it once probably in 1987. Interesting I just went on Maverick last month, and was thinking the queue was familiar... they reused the queue from this one. Here's a link to another video of it that has the boring parts in it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UhGwEn8feYk.htmlsi=mD6Ioe-rlLFkGtO6
Even though this was built way before Boulder Dash I can see why they call it Baby Boulder Dash as BD was inspired by this ride, and BD is a great rollercoaster
The power went out when I went and we had to go through that exit where the mouse is. That building used to have a different ride where it was a cave. There was a rock on the ceiling someone told me to hit it and its only Styrofoam. I did and it knocked me out of the boat.
