Even more recently, people are smarming about this being "clearly cheated." It's not. Look at the cockpit. See that tiny strip of light, looks vaguely like a vertical stripe? That's the hitbox. It is one pixel. In art of the T-301, it's the mount where the cockpit connects to the spaceframe. They made that the hitbox in this, and it's a Treasure game, so graphically sometimes the models look like they should be getting hit but don't (Ikaruga, also by Treasure, comes to mind). This person is just really good, simple. Besides, if you think this is impossibly hard (it *is* hard, don't get me wrong), you haven't seen some of the others in this genre. Give Crimzon Clover a peek and then tell me that THIS looks impossible.
You might blame me. I think this mod looks easy and boring. I like challenges more than cool graphics You can go play another game for the new graphics. But I praise the mod creators for their diligence in making this
Man this is GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!! Assets in level 13 are just mhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!! chef kiss!!!!! the change in the stage music is also a great choice, keeping the urgency in the levels as the prince comes back from hell itself!!! too good man the best mod i have seen so far
I'm just watching the first level, and I don't want to watch any more so I can play it spoiler-free. I love how you made the levels look good instead of focusing on frame-perfect movement tech and weird glitches. The room at 2:45 transitioning from dungeon to cavern is great visual establishment of setting and clever use of the game's art assets. 3:04 and 3:10 are great ways to make sure your player doesn't get lost and backtrack too much. 3:30 teaches first time players about door-closing panels. You look like a pro, making new, creative, good-looking levels within the limits of the original game.
One of my favorite games. I find it better than the new one. In fact Rtype final 2 wasn't even necessary this was the perfect swansong to the Rtype series. Rtype has the best lore for a shmup as well in my opinion. A pretty tragic one at that. The Bydo are human creations. In fact they have human DNA. Humans saw their error in creating the Bydo and because they couldn't destroy them without destroying themselves they sent their creation into a wormhole to hopefully coverup their mistake. The memory of the Bydo to be forgotten forever. Only the wormhole didn't destroy them. It sent them 400 years into the past where they declared war on a less advanced civilization. Like a bitter abandoned child who didn't ask to be born. The connection to humanity can be seen in the final stages of Rtype Delta and final. The cerberus ship was trapped and captured by the Bydo in Rtype Delta and is the final boss here. Love this series of games.
This is only a hack version of the game, and it does not involve the issue of official copyright. So many people do the hack version of the dos version and enjoy it. As long as it is not a charge or something, it is OK. The official will not take care of it. To put it mildly, this is not a very hot hack version, and the official will not take care of it.
@@M4gnumPYIn vain, this game is already more than 30 years old, even Mechner released the source codes of the original game, many custom levels have been released and no one is thinking about any kind of license.
