Words are my super power and I love using them to write stories, introduce you to others' experiences, and share inspiring messages that help you better know yourself, grow yourself and thrive.
That's what you'll find on this channel, in my interviews with my Celebrating the Power of Women's Stories™ guests, in my keynote messages, and in the speeches I've invited others to share at my events.
Sit back, stay a while and SUBSCRIBE (please!). May you be encouraged to embrace your ability to live #LifeUntapped. And while you're at it, continue your journey with one (or a few!) of my women's fiction novels. You'll find them under my name wherever books are sold.

Thank you, introverted one, for coming out of the shell to be a blessing to so many. Checkmark on the power of story. Checkmark on the value of journaling. That Maya Angelou book, gratitude, and the worth in writing...for everyone...check, check, check. And especially for the invitation to "write the vision", thank you. Much appreciation to you, Stacy!
#TBT Since there's a long holiday weekend in the making, this is a great time to be inspired by the power of women's stories - including your personal story- by viewing the inspirational brunch I hosted last October at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-G2b5N129cIk.html If you weren't there in person and haven't seen it airing on the Comcast public access channels in metro Richmond, take some time now to check it out, and share it with your women friends and teen girls you want to encourage. The video is a little more than an hour long, but you can stop and start as you need. I hope the powerful messages my women friends shared will encourage you to look for beauty among your ashes, trust that everything lovely happens in its own time, and find your relevance right where you are. (This wasn't Oprah's "The Life You Want Tour," but we sure came close, for #RVA!) ~ #AmazingTeamwork ~ #LifeUntapped
By now, most of us who are setting New Year goals or making resolutions have settled on WHAT those plans are; but what's your WHY? In other words, have you determined why you're ready to make certain personal or professional changes in 2015, and do your answers hit home enough to help you stay focused? It's been proven that if you can name your "why" and that reason holds significant personal meaning (rather than being driven by peer pressure, cultural norms or people pleasing) you'll be more likely to succeed. So take some time this weekend to ask yourself why you want to achieve the goals on your 2015 list, and what about those reasons are worthwhile enough to help you persist, sacrifice when necessary, and keep moving forward. For #TBT, I'll share one of my WHYs - the reason I why I write. Enjoy this video segment from the women's empowerment brunch I hosted in October to learn my motivation for penning women's fiction novels and the inspirational posts I share in this space. Happy New Year (again)! ~ #LifeUntapped
On this "eve" of Christmas Eve, I'm gearing up to pull out the chocolate cake recipe and whip up a few other favorite family traditions to get ready for the holiday, but I haven't forgotten that I owe you all a book! As I mentioned last week, unexpected delays have pushed back the ebook version of my novel "Watercolored Pearls," but I'm still working on it, between holiday preparations and festivities. I could go deep into my "writer's cave" this week and shut out the world to finish final touches; but family and friends come first during this season, so I'm making sure to be present in the present. "Watercolored Pearls" will be my New Year's offering to you, and the next time I mention it, a link to order will be attached! In the meantime, check out holiday offerings on Amazon by my author friends Pat Simmons, Tia Webster McCollors and Kimberla Lawson Roby. Today, as you go about your day, spend time preparing for the holiday, watch or listen to challenging news reports about events unfolding around our nation, begin thinking about all you want to accomplish in 2015, or simply try to find a reason to smile, consider that all the joy you need is within you. You are a gift, a light, a blessing all by yourself, if you choose to be. Embrace that truth and enjoy this day. I'll share one of my favorite Christmas songs tomorrow, but today I'd like you to pause and truly give thanks for all that you are and the gifts you have to offer the world simply by being (or becoming) your best self. So please enjoy this rendition of "Hero" performed by my sister friend Nancy Glisson Lucy at the inspirational brunch I hosted in October. #inspirational
Happy Thanksgiving! My offering of love to you today is a video of the inspirational brunch I recently hosted at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden in #RVA. As you spend time reflecting on all you're grateful for, I hope you'll enjoy this program filled with encouragement, revelation and powerful stories. I was deeply honored to host this event, and I remain amazed and humbled by the impact it continues to have on all who attended. May you be blessed by it as well. While I hope you'll watch the entire program of interpretive dance, song and personal stories, I especially would like you to view my keynote message, in which I explain why I write and thank YOU, my readers. My message begins far into the video, around 1:05:23. Thank you, and I'm grateful for each of you! Enjoy your day of Thanksgiving. (Please share the video with others who might be inspired by its messages to use their life circumstances for good.)
Honored to have WTVR CBS 6 as a sponsor for the inspirational brunch I'm hosting in #RVA in Oct. Join me by purchasing tickets at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden or online here: tinyurl.com/CelebratingStories #BEinspired
Thank you, everyone! I appreciate the support! Hoping it will be both an inspiring and "activating" day - one that encourages everyone who attends to pursue a personal goal or dream.
