Music appreciation channel! Your average metal addict! Discography rankings for metal and metal discussion. I review albums I like as my rule is if I don't like it I don't review it unless its an album ranking. I listen to multiple genres of metal so don't expect the same genres. I don't go into politics on the channel.
Been listening to Toxic Grace a ton and it's definitely my favorite Thrash Metal album of 2024. The more I listen to the album the more I love it. Toxic Grace is my favorite album of any genre 2024.🤘
I dunno how id rank the albums other than Scrolls which as a death metal guy is obviously number 1. That said Mortification have a lot of variety in their albums from thrash to groove to death metal to even some punk influence. I saw them in concert here at the Powerstation in Auckland back in 1992 when they toured for the scrolls album and they were amazing. Steve is a legend, amazing guy and been through a lot especially with his battle with cancer. Not many ppl win that battle but he did and i think thats the influence of the title of Truimph of Mercy. I still havent checked out his hard rock band Wonrowe Vision but what ive heard has a Motorhead feel to it
Wow 13 at the bottom, eh?! That's rough. While it is by no means perfect I wouldn't put it THAT low. There is NO WAY this album is worse than Forbidden and some of the goofier Tony Martin albums! I know I know, opinions and assholes, right? Still.... geez that is ROUGH! I see generally from your rating that you are really into the Tony Martin albums. Geez again, Heaven and Hell that low?! Born Again is vastly underrated... that album is so eerie and sinister sounding, and Ian just RIPS!! The Eternal Idol is another vastly underrated album. Such a tasty treat that album is!!
It's hard to rank Meshuggah's albums. I think they are all great, as you said in the video. The order often changes for me, but here's my list based on how I prefer them at this moment: 1. Koloss 2. Nothing 3. Chaosphere 4. Destroy erase improve 5. Immutable 6. Obzen 7. Catch 33 8. TVSOR 9. Contradictions Collapse You definitely gain a better appreciation for the band after seeing them live. One of the best live bands ever!
My list would propably look a bit different than yours, but as you said, they are all (almost) perfect albums. Great to see that DSABH gets so much love from you, it's not my favourite Him album, but I sure enjoy it, and it's always been underrated in my opinion. I don't know if you (or anyone?) has noticed, but I remember noticing this for years, that HIM did put out always a ''Heavy album'' and after that an ''not so heavy-album'', I think it was almost like an pattern, maybe Ville did it on purpose or not, but it's pretty clear if you think about the discography. Greetings from their home country
Awesome video man! I fucking love Whitechapel. Here’s my own personal ranking… 8 - Mark of the Blade 7 - Our Endless War 6 - Kin 5 - The Valley 4 - Whitechapel 3 - A New Era of Corruption 2 - The Somatic Defilement 1 - This Is Exile I like the heavy shit, you can tell lol
Every Cannibal Corpse ranking is very different, since the band is so consistent and doesn't have any real stinkers. The top 10 for me can move around a bit. My ranking, as of today: 1. Kill 2. The Bleeding 3. Tomb of the Mutilated 4. Torture 5. Bloodthirst 6. The Wretched Spawn 7. A Skeletal Domain 8. Evisceration Plague 9. Violence Unimagined 10. Chaos Horrific 11. Butchered at Birth 12. Gallery of Suicide 13. Gore Obsessed 14. Red Before Black 15. Vile 16. Eaten Back to Life
Initially, I added my "like it" as soon as I opened this video, due to my appreciation for the band. However, soon I've realized how annoying all that constant swearing is to my ears: it makes the "review" annoying and almost unbearable, and truly immature. Swearing does not make you look edgier, or aggressive; it only makes you look childish and silly.
Saw Obituary recently and songs from Dying of Everything sat really well with anything else from their discography. I say I saw them, but that’s not entirely accurate because I wasn’t really able to look up at the stage much because my head would just not stop banging 😂
Hey mate! Sabbath are an amazing band and people definitely need to listen past the ozzy and dio eras. My favourite tony martin era is easily headless cross and I’m so glad it’s been re released But goddamn bro you weren’t wrong with your hot takes 😂😂 shocking to see heaven and hell that low and I never understood why some people chuck 13 down the bottom 😂 I had it at number 8 Either way mate great ranking and always love seeing controversial opinions 🤘🏻🤘🏻 Also I Fuckn love sabotage too haha had that at number 2!
Easily my favorite symphonic metal band. I love them. Here's my ranking: 1. Songs of Love and Death 2. Lost in Forever 3. Beyond the Black 4. Heart of the Hurricane 5. Hørizøns
I have a lot of time for The Killing Kind. It is weird in places but I think its solid, well written songs, guitar solos are sick and the production is really good. Appreciate the ranking is personal but for me Immortalis is their worst.
Dethroned, Conquered and Forgotten (EP) doesn't sound too much like the full-lengths before it. Dethroned, Conquered and Forgotten sounds a bit more aggressive. Its a personal favourite of mine and I also like the album cover alot
You can learn to sew your patches on RU-vid mate I know it’s not the most “metal” activity but some of them patches feminine enough might as well make it look good
I like Bury The Cross... With Your Christ. I still have to check out the entire album. For me Deicide need the Hoffmans and the Hoffmans need Deicide. Unfortunately they seem to hate each other lol.
Great to see Tales from the Twilight World ranked so highly! Right now my ranking is: 1. Nightfall in Middle Earth 2. Somewhere Far Beyond 3. Imaginations from the Other Side 4. Tales from the Twilight World 5. A Night at the Opera 6. At the Edge of Time 7. Follow the Blind 8. Battalions of Fear 9. The God Machine 10. Beyond the Red Mirror 11. A Twist in the Myth
It was very average / mid imo, Overtures of Blasphemy (their previous) was much better and was more enjoyable to my ears. This new album with the fake AI art didn't really do much for me... sounded like a bunch of B-sides. Oh well.
mmhmm, battle vest fits the bill brah brah. Trivium, Twinkchapel, BLS and the mighty (and I said mighty) Nun god damnit. This new Deicide was practically made for you, a true metalist. later god damnit
Cool. I haven't had time to checkout the new Deicide yet. If you have time checkout the new This Ending, 'Crowned in blood', melodic death metal from Sweden.
I agree. Swallowed By Hell is my pick for best Thrash Metal album of 2024 and it's gonna be hard to beat. I bought the album on cd and made the album cover my av to help promote it to other metalheads.🤘
You're looking good, and happier, when looking a few years back. I hope you're doing well! I enjoy your ranking videos, and I will get in to some of your reviews as well. Cheers! :) Love metal. I especially appreciate channels as yours, as I don't have anyone in person who loves metal. :/
Oh, and I've just gotten in to Cannibal Corpse. Brutal. I've only listened to The Bleeding, Bloodthirst, Kill, and A Skeletal Domain so far, but I love them all, especially the latter two. So far, I prefer their mid-to late career:)
If you get to them one day, I would appreciate rankings of these bands (will surely grow): Between The Buried And Me Behemoth Deftones Enslaved Mr. Bungle Protest The Hero Opeth The Dillinger Escape Plan
My ranking: 6: Vale (Best: Wake Up, Worst: Dead Man Walking) 5: WSTW (Best: Knives and Pens, Worst: Carolyn) 4: STWOF (Best: STWOF, Worst: Ritual) 3: BVB (Best: Faithless, Worst: Walk Away) 2: TPT (Best: Scarlet Cross, Worst: Fall Eternal) 1: WaD (Best: In the End, Worst: Done For You)
