Please,!!! Who can tell me the year I made this Video in Hawaii! It was my first inflatable SUP Model “Samoa” must have been About 2002 or 03. “Success has many fathers “ But I need to know who invented the first inflatable. (Wooden ones are 1000 years old. I created an inflatable “Sit-Down- Padd-board” in 1982 Model: Sevylor ST-5000” Conny Klimenko
can somebody make one with small elevators that can control the pitch JUST enough to keep the raft afloat not too high. Make it more aerodynamic too so that the stall speed isn’t the same as a 2000 pound Bush plane.
This is how they were supposed to be used. Totally safe. But of course a bunch of morons had to do it the wrong way, injure themselves, and get the tubes banned.
Bossing it! We tried today and our feet kept slipping, but I believe some models have foot straps. We were into wind at 35mph, south east of england on the sea, 5 mph of wind
A person of about 200 lbs, needs go travel about 25 to 30 mph. Starting against the wind will help. using the Manta on lakes, be careful of crosswinds coming from side channels and around islands. Be prepared to shift your weight. Do not take foolish chances always wear a life vest. Responsibility is in hands of boat captain. Stay away from rocks, bridges and other boats. Flying higher than 10 to 20 feet could be dangerous in case of a fall. To stop, reduce speed and let the rider land gently.
Conny Klimenko lol I weigh 225 and had to be going atleast 55mph. My buddy who can actually fly it only weighs 150lbs...we had to be around 40mph for him....thats with a good head wind also. Lol I'm a licensed skydiver.....got this mantaray and broke 2 ribs my first 5 minutes on the thing. Lol i sold it gonna stick to skydiving.
@@user-jz3vc9kd2j "Licenced skydiver"? hahaha You sound like a student there champ. Been sky diving for 13 years and I'm more scared of my Manta Ray than I am lobbing out of planes.
If properly inflated with 15 PSI the Samoa will support a 200 pound person and not sag. After Sevylor Corporation was sold the new owners supplied a pump which required a lot of power to reach this pressure, currently the Samoa and the new Bali are supplied with the proper pump and any person can comfortably reach 15-18 PSI. This is Conny in October 221 This is the first inflatable SUP I created in 2000. (No writing or decorations !!!) The model is the daughter of my photographer in Hawaii and the little boy is her brother . Photographer you see at the end of the video . It was the first SUP experience for everybody.! I wish I would have ignored all my relatives and experts: : :It is an inflatable “Surfboard” It will never sell, because “ Surfboards’ Are a special product for surfers only ! Very small “Nitche Business “ And inflatables will never perform like the real boards in competition! I decided not to listen again !!!
