It was a good try at least :) . You really should also take those Enhanced Bolts too, makes things much safer for 2nd Phase. Would also allow you to get Poison Bolts for Ballistas too. Technically speaking that way you wouldn't have needed Lookout (which you sort of underutilized here) . I would also recommend getting both Golden Forest Cards earlier and cashing them either if you need them asap or like level 24ish actually, more important on 3 and 4 Lane Maps thought. Splitting wasn't the best ever, but you did play it right for the most part, thought I think you should have just expanded the longest Lane more just for the 4th Phase Oogie. For 3 and 4 Lane Maps you can't really afford to place Ballistas next to Houses, expect by the Main Tower. You probably also saw how Lane Coverage plays important role here, particularly with Robots, Invaders and Eldritch Sets (which you got) , so having "too forward" towers can be a thing in a way. And with a lot of Trial and error, I found Quantity to be more important than Quality to certain point (mainly due missiles and eyes actually) . That's why I sort of think that both Robot Tank and Invader Tank are bit over-tuned to rest of mobs actually ;S . And that's more or less why 4 Lane Maps are often easy first 2 Phases, then hopefully not Robots, then Must get Shapes for 4th Phase for those 2 Tower achievements... Unless you have AoE tower as 2nd tower then Eldritch Set is pretty easy usually too. Anyways from the other Videos, I did sort of like the Thronefall too actually. Not sure if you've heard this game "Noita", but it can be decently fun too... Bit on difficult side thought, plays fair *most* of the time. Thought it becomes a bit "Wiki-The-Game" for for certain Quests (something beyond just basic win basically, unlocks mostly spells but also 2 cosmetic stuff on Player Char too) and possibly to understand certain mechanics better.
Hello CheeseCakeCactus, thanks for checking out Comet Force! I'm glad you had a lot of fun playing with your own space force, that build in the last run looked insanely strong! Thanks for your suggestions as well: I will make the dash unlimited when not in combat, and fix enemies getting too far outside the arena. I will keep you updated when an official demo with more contents comes out :)
We all have our main stay games that we enjoy, no mater how many games like it that come out. Best examples are games like World of Warcraft people have been playing it for ever since day 1.
Cool run you got dealt a very bad opening area, in the run i got through four lane i had many hills, so I had like ~10 ballista near the tower that could hit the ends of all the lanes(the range uprades go hard), so whenever something got there it got hella slowed also why did you get the manabanks, the build needs no mana, therefore no manabanks(even if you get manabolts, you *might* survive on mana syphons, which you cannot unpick) also whenever i get a hand where i do not want anything, i look for a mana syphon or a mine, because they add nothing else to the deck, so "essentially" you are improving your consistency by taking cards away about the trees: on wave 26 you had the option of doubling card chance, should have taken it. you had like ~10 trees, spending 1 card to give them 25% chance for card is worth it a lot, then chop them immediatly i personally believe if you get to the lategame, what are a couple of card when the build is online and breathing, chop them at level 25, that is about the level where i feel like i need the money and the cards as well as the trees have enough chance of course if you get 2 trees in a run there is no point because you would get more cards by picking something else rather than golden forest
I always had better luck by just fully focusing for the first 2 Phases just straight Ballista basically, maybe could throw a couple of that other tower for those 2 Tower Achievements until Phase 3 when cash starts to flow and Ballistas start to become weaker, they can serve fine for first 3 Phases thought, particularly if you don't get Robots group. That would actually even mean taking Mana Bolts thought - so would need Mana Banks too. And obviously those Vile Consumption etc cards too. Mana Siphon just seems worse to me in the long run, wasting that one other card choice. That way you should be able to almost always target just most (health type + fastest + whichever you want) based on which Phase 2 Group you get, health type based on newest mob. For Phase 3 and Phase 4 optimal targeting depends what mobsets you get, if you don't get anything that spams missiles or eyes can easily continue with that (most health - fastest - progress) way for example. Same thing basically if you can have AoE, such as Vampire Lairs. Lane coverage is also important, so I could value +2 height more if it can hit more Lanes than +3 at reasonable spot. That 2nd try wasn't that bad try actually. I mean I would have expanded a bit differently and not taking Gold Rush either. It still had reasonable chance to win actually but you should have definitively chosen Golden Forest 2 and then cashed in the Trees so you could have cashed them with some chest and cash profit. And then tried to bolster your defenses with that cash. Should use first few turns to make each lane like 3 expansions and then decide which lane seems to be best Boss Lane. With that Demon Group, you probably want to have 4 or 5 expansion worth of lane for all Lanes in Phase 3. Due how High Tower spawn, I'd start expanding the shortest Lanes and also Portal Tiles only from Phase 3 on so you could have some really powerful towers that way. Also should try to "fix" Triple Splits so that 1 or 2 expansion space between the 2 other lanes, to prevent them grouping overwhelming way, but this can also depend how far that kind of split is and also which mobset you have when you got it. With many tries, I hardly saw value to do manual upgrades past level 10 really worth it (unless we're talking about High Towers) past just spamming more towers, unless we're talking Infinite Mode. But then again, that also seemed to depend a bit based by which tower we're talking about and exactly what mobset we have for Phase 3 and 4. In fact if going for very high levels One Lane Map Ballista towers aren't worth at all to spend any cards... Also don't forget that University also yields Crit Cards too after each Scholarship and if you can invest Universities heavily early on, definitely worth it too.
you can beat it vanilla with march of the monsters you need no mana(no manabolts, baristas only for crits multipying status effects and slow) go haunted houses for a absolute insanity of money it is a balllista only run until wave 13ish the canon is just broken with the cannonball splitting and stacking damage with every hit just have to keep track of your deck and do not take cards that expand your cardpool for consistency sake might even be possible without march of monsters if you get lucky with trees and golden forests
like taking a boost to the status effect will expand your deck dramatically, only do when your cannons are maxxed don't even have mana banks as an option, adds too many cards never take sorcery, you do not need it also do not go into ballistas +1 to shield tree, only expands the deck, most of the effects are useless due to the sheer quantity of towers I would say universities are good because they scale, even if they add shit ton of cards to the pool
Well you could do a lot stuff better really (such as less planes if the goal is just level 45, placing more Frost Keeps earlier and they should cover as much road as possible, Lookout should target most (shield or armor or health + what else you think you want) + maybe place some more of them, placing Haunted Houses + Mines asap as they are high profit things etc, you could have been more greedy too with that longest path and maybe expanded parallel running shorter path from phase on 3 on so High Tower chances that can hit multiple lanes etc, not taking poison bolts is also a kind of mistake there in a way.... ) , but I also saw some good stuff there too. Honestly I'm almost certain you might have stood a good chance vs Shapes playing the way you did there. Anyways that's just my 2 cents of that topic, I'm sure there are some better players than me too...
