Hey mate, quick question. I’m thinking about sound deadening my car and wanted to know about your experience with sound deadening the floor on your Miata. Have you noticed a difference in the interior noice level/audio quality? If so then how noticeable was it?
I think the intake would perform better with a cold air feed, especially on the open road. I know dyno cells have fans but they won’t mimic airflow when moving
Also lads the whole cold start short journey thing is for every car. The e92 and e46 both take 10-60 oil so both ideally need to be warmed up fully but it’s not the end of the world as long as you drive it easy cold. They were designed to be driven it’s a mass produced car yes the engines in both are special but they’re not all out race cars. The exhaust in the e92 is a simple box mod and decat - both have hydraulic power steering. In a big manual guy and have a manual charged e92 but the dct is pretty sick and head and shoulders above the zf8 speed. Both are awesome cars if a good era if cars
Supercharged clubsport e92 manual owner here, driven many e46 and they are good but not as good as a z4m. E92 is better then them both - e46 is about 30kg lighter then an e92 hardly anything which shows how good the e92 is considering it’s got more cylinders and a more refined nicer built car. The e46 feels fragile and tbh the amount of issues the e46 has is not cool. I’ve had mine 7 years 4 years supercharged tracked it street raced it everything and it takes it in its stride. There’s only one road going v8 m3 ever. Plenty of 6 cylinders m3’s You won’t see 460hp,between 420-440 is what you’ll get
Your issues come from supercharging the engine, I’ve heard of a lot of people that once you start modding the engine the more unreliable is becomes because the car isn’t built for that type of power. Meaning you have to switch more parts, no modified car can be reliable to a point.
I own a 03 BMW e46 m3, only mods I did was a tune, headers and an exhaust. Been pretty reliable for me. Although i still turn it on and wait till the engine is warm to drive.
@@MotivateSnaps issues? I’ve had zero issues in 7 years. I track the car in fact I’m doing a track day today. All I’ve ever fixed is a rear diff seal. Dad’s been faultless. Supercharging is fine
@@RotrexfezST That sounds awesome brother, I’ve also had issues with the rear differential. Got it inspected and semi re conditioned but still makes some noise at times.
Just bought a M240i yesterday and it was a little below the minimum on coolant for the main engine reservoir, and completely perfect on the intercooler one. Colour of coolant in intercooler side was perfect, but when i got home and sampled the main engine reservoir to check colour of coolant before adding anything, and it is a little off colour with a reddish/brownish off colour going on. Figure someone may have done exactly what you describe herein by topping with non standard materials, or could be that it is now 5 years old and a bit discoloured. Topped it with de-ionised to make sure right level. Need to get the coolant changed out for fresh now.... don't fancy getting under my car like this though!! Going to ring round local garages and BM dealers to see who can do it first. Car seems to run perfect though and is in spot on temp range constantly so doesn't appear to be a serious issue.
Yeah I wish I went to a garage myself tbh. It was a messy job and the garage will have better tools to flush the system properly. Hope you’re enjoying the new car!
Currently thinking about buying one of these 2019 plate, and will check the items you mention herein 🙂 drove one the other day and it is a beast!! Next one i'm checking tomorrow 🙂
E46 feels more lighter, E92 feels more smoother. When I’m making sharp turns on E46 I can feel the grip from the tire and everything on the steering wheel. E92 feels like I’m almost gliding or sliding when I’m making turn, definitely more comfortable.
you've made a lot of remarks on the chassis, suspension and feel. This is mainly what I'm trying to understand between the various cars and models, so I appreciate your views, thanks. The way you here describe the 235 as being better than the 240, I've seen people make the same type of statements in favour of the 228/230 over the 235 Have you any experience in that regards?
I haven’t hand the opportunity to drive the other models. My advice is the B58 powered M240i and an investment into some Bilstein setup on the suspension!
Honestly, content is good, editing is better than most chanels with 50k. so just keep at it bro, you'll make it. it will probably take a year or two but you got it
Stability Control light on for stability control on my 2020 M340i ( no ABS light on) after I jump started my dead battery. Since then oil level reader has been highlighted in grey meaning you can’t click on “ Start Measurement.” The code I pulled for the stability light was Steering angle sensor calibration and I haven’t found a video for G series. Old gen videos don’t work. Other than that no drivetrain issues.
I believe he’s now sold his car, hence why he took down his car page. Welcome to give his private account a go: instagram.com/bavsssssss?igsh=MWI3b2FreXo5M28yMw==
Keeps saying the e92 takes ages to warm up but so does the e46 so I don’t get the comment. I would have said it’s more to do with economy on the c8 over the flat 6. The v8 is so so thirsty it’s why my brother sold his. I can get 33mpg easy on long journeys in my e46. Be interesting to know mileage on both. Both cars look gorgeous. I prefer the oem look myself too. For looks and nimble handling you can’t beat the e46. And both engines need care with rod bearings and once done both reliable if maintained and serviced often.
I believe the owner said he gets around 16mpg with the V8 but it all depends on how you drive. I think the biggest thing to note is maintenance cost of the V8 is higher, but the sound of that thing is worth every penny in my opinion!
so u like the m235 because it has less power so is easier to drive, the m235i has softer suspension so its goes smoother......u like the m235 because of the sound???? u should get a basic serie 220 it has better MPG also, the m240i has way more power, coming from a STI the m240i suspension is way better
M240i doesn’t have much more power, the delivery just feels more violate because of the higher torque. Perhaps there could be differences between sports and adaptive suspension option, the the standard sports suspension on the M240i is super bouncy over UK roads
It didn’t take it away for me but I’m sure there is a tuner out there somewhere who can fix it. I’m glad you also think it’s a huge problem and I’m not the only one!
What I really like is that the hood stayed closed during the dyno runs. I see cars on the dyno with the hood opened way too many times and that falsifies the results.
