My name is Kerry Lane, an Outfitter and Guide at Clearwater Historic Lodge in the Boundary Waters of Northern MN. I have been given the opportunity to spend all of my time in this amazing place known as the "Northwoods". Being obsessed with the Northwoods all of my life, I remember a time when I wished I could be here all of the time. Now I live here and want to share my experiences as well as information about routes, trips, gear and anything else related to living in the Northwoods. I also want to hear from you about your Northwoods experiences. If it's a Moose sighting in the BWCA or you finally caught Bigfoot on video, I want to know! After all, sharing is the best way to build a community!
Thank You for Watching, subscribing, and see you on the next portage!
Had a cow in North Bay one year and the next year a cow and calf in site 10. Had a bull on the portage to Wench last summer. Heading there tomorrow for this year's trip.
Why is your music so ominous? It makes me feel like I'm going into the steel factory in Terminator 2 when I drop in here in two weeks. But I really appreciate the video! Great to see the live conditions of exactly where I will be. Definitely switching from hiking boots to wellies for this trip. Also great to see that you did Bower Trout to Brule in a single day without too much stress. I'm only planning to get to Swan on day one.
Awesome video! Thank you for sharing your adventure. God bless the people that were there before you for their kindness and generosity. Reminds me of Kenny from Kenny of All Trades here on RU-vid. He pours kindness over his camp sites too. I love the cleanness of the water, clearness of the stars and beauty of the northern lights that one finds in the BWCA. Such a gift for those who seek.
Couldn’t agree with you more! Thank you so much for watching! www.patreon.com/base_camp_north? For early access to videos, and other goodies check out our Patreon! www.patreon.com/base_camp_north
Great video! Looked like a perfect day for canoeing (minus the mosquitoes). The people at the campsite before you deserve a gold medal. pre cut wood and kindling? I've never been that nice.
Thank you so much your words they are very much appreciated! And thank you for watching will have a lot of content coming out this summer! www.patreon.com/base_camp_north
Hiked a nice loop on Saint Patrick’s day. Clearwater to Daniels to Rove and over back to Clearwater. Ice conditions are perfect. Beautiful hike. I saw the Watap cliff from Rove lake. It was beautiful. This particular hike was one of my favorites. Especially climbing out of Rove to Clearwater.
It’s always here waiting for you! In the meantime, I’ll try to keep you updated here on the channel. Thanks for watching and let me know what you’d be interested in seeing next! www.patreon.com/base_camp_north
Thank you and thanks for watching! Those Rose Lake overlooks are some of the best around here. That whole border route Trail section from Rose Lake East is pretty spectacular! www.patreon.com/base_camp_north
New sub. Watched this and your Rose Lake and Hidden Falls videos so far. Love your style of video; beautifully scenery of course, wonderfully shot and edited, no talking, and great music (original or who is the artist(s)).Well done and way to live out your dream up there! Kraig Adams has a channel and also doesn't talk during the hiking portions of his long videos, but at the end he usually has a section where he talks about the trail and shows maps, etc. One of my Minnesota hiking guidebooks listed this trail as the hardest day hike in the state and I agree completely with that assessment. To add to that difficulty I got a bit lost on the way out. Backtracked for awhile and finally recognized where I went astray. Had about 30 minutes of daylight left by the time I finished. As a fairly new hiker when I tackled this one, it was a bit scary. Would like to backpack the Moss Lake Loop this trail is a part of.
Thanks for watching! All the music is original. I make it myself. It is awesome living up here! It’s definitely possible to get turned around on those trails. Still happens to me from time to time even after being down them so many times. I do have this other page where the videos come out about three weeks earlier if you’re interested. www.patreon.com/base_camp_north Appreciate your support and let me know what you think of the other videos!
The Canoe is a Northstar 3person. I use several different cameras. Also use the cell phone quite often. It’s quite amazing. What kind of video you can get with a cell phone these days. Other Cameras Canon EOS 5DS Google pixel seven cell phone iPhone 12 Pro EOS T4i
THANKS (AGAIN), KERRY! So many beautiful reminders of what surrounds us - for some, in their backyard. We feel privileged that you set nature's dance to music. AND WE are THE BETTER for it! Keep the camera rolling as you take us to magical places! John and Susan
Well, I hope you have better luck next time. In the meantime, I’ll keep posting videos when they happen! Thank you for watching! More Content available in the link below! www.patreon.com/base_camp_north
Beautiful! 20 years ago we could see the milky way from our yard just as bright as in this video. Then Bemidji started adding more and more lights to their surrounding areas. we live 35 miles from then, but the light pollution still makes its way to us. Then they built the pump station down the road to us. There is NO MORE Black nights! Always a haze on the skyline. The milky-way can be seen, just not as bright as before.
I’m really sorry to hear about that light pollution you’re dealing with. I’ll be sure to keep sharing videos of the night sky out here. Thank you for watching! More Content available in the link below! www.patreon.com/base_camp_north
Those sunsets are really tough to beat! I couldn’t agree more. Thank you for watching! More Content available in the link below! www.patreon.com/base_camp_north
